Ever got annoyed at having to run like 9 different programs for all your messaging apps? say no more!
Pidgin is an open source messaging application that lets you log in to IRC, MSN, Google Talk, Steam, Pidgin, and many more, all at once in a single program!

It comes with many clients by default but for steam and pidgin you have to download the plugins manually
Steam plugin
Discord plugin (available on ubuntu repositories)

Edit: Ok i was excited bcuz i didnt know this was possible but apparently its really barebones
It doesn't support voice chat, embeds, uploading images, hiding channels, or pretty much anything besides basic chatting, but hey its an option

aierausing discord on pidgin used to be fucking awful have they made anything other than dming not fucking cancer yet?

it automatically opens tabs of channels where you get a mention and you cant see the past log of a channel from before you entered it just like with IRC
you can kindaaa fix the latter enabling auto-join and persistence on the channels you care about, but it will still not show messages from before you logged in besides for the log of the last time you were connected

Honestly between steam and discord I really wouldn’t need something like this, but It’s still pretty cool and I appreciate the share, I’ll keep it bookmarked If I ever need it or or they improve everything for discord

woodchipif you can talk to a person on one platform why cant you talk to them on another? aren't they all free?

Well it is a way to lower cpu usage for people with bad processors
But it would really only make a small difference, I guess this would be great for more work related things that involve multiple platforms.
