1. It depends, generally it's better to comm something rather than nothing, even if it's through yelling. However the worst possible outcome is if someone starts directing their anger at team mates and then they also become tilted, causing the team's performance to decline much more than if it was just the one person getting mad.

Well if the person is atleast comming at right times all though he is yelling and toxic he is atleast making good comms and helping the team in some sense. I have a bad habbit when im tilted to yell abt random shit and not realize it so take that with a grain of salt

1. yelling is better as at least there is a chance for them to calm down and get their head in the game
2. tf2 is small enough for everyone to have heard of ppl and probably played against them at one point which might make them feel like they know the person good enough to judge
3. he has childrem brain

question 2: most people in this scene have next to no face to face interaction so their only social construct is an online world which they base their opinions of human characters off

eg. the meeting someone at lan phenomenon

playing online you create a certain picture of someone that usually drastically changes once you meet him/her in an offline setting (sometimes for the better sometimes for the worse)

You feel like you are capable of winning and therefore SHOULD win, if things don't go according to plan you feel like your power is being stripped from you and as an instinct you respond with playing more aggressive which isn't always a good decision, your noticeable worse performance leads to frustration which either makes you yell at others or go silent because you start focusing on mechanics far more than decision making and communication with the rest of the team

https://youtu.be/OvaPVBFVUWQ this vid is good and cool imo

funhaver1998You are playing a videogame.

This is the most retarded thing you can possibly say when discussing a competitive game LOL
Doesn't matter if it's a video game, competitive people will want to win. Even if they don't get a sustainable income from it, the amount of dopamine awarded from winning is more than enough
saying "its only game" is a coping mechanism for shitters & putting in 0 effort isn't gonna get you anywhere stfu loser lol

it being a competitive game that u wanna win as a justification of muting urself and yelling at the videogame causing yourself to lose even more

rly where im coming from is the fact that my own team #1 problem is this tilting shit and i don't get it at all and the slightest thing makes us lose. most of the time we lose i wouldn't even say we were being out played or anything by the other team its much more that we are losing to our own god damn selves and i never rly understood why these players do that shit

but at the same time its not a my team specific thing its a broad thing amongst below prem teams where people spend thousands and thousands of hours in the videogame and do the most counter productive shit when it comes up to winning/improving which is what they rly want, and they even conciously understand that and continue to do it

the vast majority of tf2 players are 16+ and u can't even control your emotions on something that you're supposed to enjoy?

like just watch froyo play when they get mad and yea they shout and stuff but they don't do it so much that it hinders their team because they are adults and i kno there's a scrim where habib switches to soldier and does it the entire game and screams his mind off on youtube but thats because drugs has warped his brain to below his age

funhaver1998it being a competitive game that u wanna win as a justification of muting urself and yelling at the videogame causing yourself to lose even more

it explains why ppl let their feelings get involved

its more complicated to group everyone together, some do it in scrims because they have a better understanding of the game and despite their efforts to make their teammates improve nothin happens and its so fuckin annoying having to play like that
some do it in pugs because there are so many rats who dont know how to play the game and put their logs ahead of the enjoyment of comp for 5 other ppl (gr8 example is scouts who never cap, never play near med, come into ubers and decide to play sniper in uber ads and then have the audacity to have a fucking ego lmfao u guys r fuckin retards)
some do it in both because they're immature manchildren

1) I try to always talk about whats making me mad/going wrong after a fight when theres time. Sometimes it slips out though and you get mad during a fight in which its totally right for teammates to tell you to shut the fuck up. But screaming constantly and then going mute does not solve the issue.

2) People have different personas dependant on different people, just like how you act different in-front of friends/in-front of people you just met/in-front of your mom/dad. Obviously, opinions change when you become more accustomed and interact more with someone. Don't know if you knew timon but he was a fucking dick to other people who didnt know him, he literally did it for fun to piss people off, but to me he was the nicest guy, even paid my internet bill once so I could play scrims and an official lol.

Doughy1. Is one yelling in comms when tilted better or worse than one who gets completely mute?

Yelling in Comms because you're tilted is far worse than going mute.

What yelling comms does.

  • Denies your teammates the ability to communicate with each other.
  • Makes it so your teammates can't hear ingame audio.
  • Makes it so you're unlikely to hear/process what your teammates are saying.
  • Makes it unlikely for you to hear/process in game audio ques.
  • You're directly conveying your anger to your teammates even if not directed specifically at them. This can cause a worse scenario where more members of the team Tilt.

What going mute in comms does.

  • Annoy your teammates that you're not saying anything.

Both are bad but 1 is definitely worse than the other. The only time yelling in comms is ok is if it's to bring immediate attention to something specific to accomplish a goal. Ex. 1. WE POPPED UBER WE'RE ENDING HERE. 2. THEY'RE ALL LOOKING AT ME PUSH NOW! 3. SPY ON OUR MEDIC!!!

If you can get a decent hold on your tilt relatively quickly yelling for ~30s of match is far better than being mute for 5+ minutes.

theres a huge difference between venting for 10 seconds vs tilting for the rest of a map and projecting your anger on your teammates. Im perfectly fine with option 1 over my teammate going mute for the rest of the game.
