At least 12 people are dead after a yet-to-be-identified gunman began shooting at the Borderline Bar & Grill in Thousand Oaks.

if everyone in the bar had been armed and aiming at the door just immediately shooting everyone who stepped through this would never have happened.

Some inside Borderline bar survived Las Vegas mass shooting, friends say

“A lot of people in the Route 91 situation go here,” he said. “There’s people that live a whole lifetime without seeing this, and then there’s people that have seen it twice.”

CNNAuthorities said he had no criminal record, but Dean said officers were called to his home in April, when deputies found him angry and acting irrationally. The sheriff said officers were told he might have PTSD because of his military service. A mental health specialist met with him and didn't feel he needed to be hospitalized.

See, this is a major issue. A PTSD-inflicted individual who's shown strong-enough symptoms to have police called
A) Shouldn't be carrying a firearm in a public place and
B) Should've received extensive mental care.
This is a major reason why mass shootings occur; individuals who should be receiving mental care are granted access to firearms. For example, Madden shooter David Katz had 26 police visits to his house in a span of 13 years (some of which were unreasonable calls by Katz), yet still managed to legally purchase a 9mm and a .45 (source)

TL;DR We're far too lax on allowing mentally ill individuals to obtain/purchase firearms.

My fellow Americans, I think it is time we finally just collectively hand in our guns to the US Government so an atrocity like this will not happen again.

It's really depressing how many of these are Families getting shot or murder + suicide of a family.

gunviolencearchive2 families at a 1-year-old’s birthday party argument escalated into a shooting

4 dead 1 wounded 2 arrested

One of my friends told me that some of his friends were there at the time of the shooting, thank god that they happened to get away unharmed, it's honestly deplorable that 12 innocent were still killed however. I can't imagine the grief one has goes through when this shit happens to one of their friends or loved ones.

Stay safe everyone. Hopefully people will realize we really do need stricter gun laws soon and hopefully Democrat control of the House can help push these new gun laws into effect.

it's some dumb shit where redhats pretend to take the weird strawman stances they've created for dems that basically nobody actually has

they claim that people who don't agree with them are like npcs in video games, just parroting the same few lines over and over and not thinking about what they're saying or doing

it's real dumb but because 4chan is nothing if not clever they have turned any refutation of being an npc into an npc line

normal redhats are too dumb to understand that they're being made fun of just as much by the whole thing

That's very deep stuff you just said but the reality is we need much more comprehensive gun regulation and training for owners. It's not 1776 anymore and if the founding fathers could look at our modern situation I'd like to imagine that they'd be reasonable, compromising people.

the only way to create more gun control in this country is to arm the people conservatives are scared of

give every black and brown person a gun and we'll have stricter gun control within a month
