Is my sensitivity too high or do I suck at aiming

So I play at about 8.2 inches per 360, which is 1000dpi @ sensitivity 2 in-game with raw input (Polling rate is 500hz but I don't think that matters).
I find this to be optimal when playing Soldier or Medic, but when I play Scout it's like I massively overshoot a lot of the time (It's not stress, because it happens in casual too). It could be that I'm not used to playing so close to an enemy, but I don't know for sure. I don't think my aim is necessarily bad in other games or scenarios, but it seems like when I play Scout my aim goes to crap for some reason.
I've considered trying to learn a 2nd sens to use with Scout but I don't think I could get accustomed to switching between two sensitivities.

edit: thx for the tips guys, ill be sure to work on my strafe aiming and midrange shots, among other things

You suck at aiming. Play more scout if you want to aim better as scout.

when you're playing scout keep in mind that your aim should be synced with your movement and always keep your xhair as close to the enemy as possible

Don’t switch sensitivities on different classes that will fuck up your aim even more.
The best thing you can do is practice. Also, if you find you’re missing a lot of shots it’s probably because you are rushing yourself to shoot. A problem myself and many others have is that we shoot as soon as we can fire when in actuality we need to have more patience and make sure that our shot will actually hit.

Most scouts tend to rely on their mouse aim in situations where strafe aiming will be significantly more effective. I would suggest practicing on mge or dm servers. Lobbies will help as well.

none of these tips really help
when you play scout your aim feels like crap bc your movement is faster, so you have to compensate by hard tracking or flicking
you basically have to keep playing the class to get used to the higher mobility

dislike perfection if you want but this is correct, scout has faster movespeed than most non arena shooter games.
you have to use your movement around your aim much more than shotgun engineer soldier etc

-protochange your polling rate to 1000hz

I was interested in trying that but it made my CPU usage jump, and that was without a game open. I need all the CPU % I can get to keep my games running.

the best advice i ever got for scout was to go for mid-range 40-60 dmg shots rather than meatshots (unless the time is right).

if you miss a meatshot, you're pretty much dead. if you miss a mid range shot... you're a fucking scout, just dodge whatever shit's thrown at you and shoot until the dudes die.
