Yeah, let's be real here. Nothing new was stated here. These are the same criticisms/satire modern art has gotten since the movement started.

tfw you don't understand how ebay bidding works and think that just because someone bids something that it means they are obligated to pay

Something funny:

They did it first. You didn't. If it's just rocks behind glass, why has anyone else not done that already for the 23 million (or whatever it was)? Why can't you just sell that tomorrow?

DontSomething funny:

because being so creative that you build a new concept means that you're inevitably doing it first, since nobody else has thought to do so

"I could've done that" ignores the fact that you didn't, you just now know what a successful piece looks like

Who actually. I mean... ok. This is going to be interesting to follow. Because not a whole lot of people have over 40M. Also, the argument can be made that this is actually categorized under collectible items, not art. So... is the point still valid, even if this sells?

Edit: just realized about the whole Ebay strike system. Lol.

Except...you don't have to pay. You don't even have to have the money to PLACE the bid I don't think? It just gives you a ticket that you'll be the first to be billed and if you feel like paying, then both parties are happy to exchange that money. I imagine you'd have to have the money for the buy it now feature.

I've only used eBay a couple of times though.

I know most bids are fake, there were still some pretty high value ones from High reputation accounts (that's gotta be worth for something) and I wouldn't put it past some eccentric millionaire like Shkreli or Notch to buy it for a few hundred thousand or millions to take a stance, specially if they are fans of the channel.

I know these criticisms have been said and repeated thousands of times before but I really enjoyed the whole setup of the video and the edit was very pleasing as well so I thought it would be nice to share, also the final conclusion with dropping / selling the beanie which has been his trademark is as good as an idea or statement of many of those pieces of said "Modern Art"

justus_1DeaGCHaMPuneducated guy states century-old platitudes in order to manipulate his uneducated fans into giving him views and thus feeding his ad revenue stream

Yeah, I kinda forgot content creators are monkeys who live to entertain us, and having any kind of ad revenue isn't a honest compensation for their work. nice shitpost

i mean every entertainment job entails manipulating peoples opinions and emotions to convince them to give you views/fame and through that fame, money. theres nothing wrong with that it just sounds bad because the word "manipulating" has negative connotations.

im pretty sure the point of the post was that ethan from h3h3productions, while a smart and funny person, is not exactly an authority on art, and the video is just kind of serves to continue an un-constructive circlejerk of non-educated people pretending that modern art is some kind of joke. theres no real content behind this kind of "critique", and its been done a million times before, so its kind of frustrating to see people eating it up
