I won't comment on the map choice because I'm biased, but it makes me really disappointed, especially with the decision to kick out a new map rather than some 8-year-old thing called Granary. Oh well.. I'll still watch everything casted. Best of luck to the teams.

I should note that this wasn't an admin decision to choose sunshine, it was a player vote. I don't know whether that makes it better for you but I'm not trying to remove your map!

A map vote is nice and democractic but there was only a map vote because of the totalitarian despotic map force.

Its honestly disgusting, when youre forcing a map that hasnt been played in 3 years for such a HUGE tf2 tournament and then saying, MAKE A CHOICE, WERE PLAYING GPIT.

this feels like such a blatant lie, just to do it in the mapmakers face. and the "makes it better for you I'm not trying to remove your map!" sounds so fishy and fake where do i begin.

Out of process, sunshine and snake - sunshine was voted out.
The gravelpit addition has been discussed to death already, but sideshow won't budge.

EDIT: Granary sunshine snake, my bad. Didn't mean to imply any hate to the map or anything like that either. Gravelpit was supposed to come in so a map had to go out, and sunshine got voted out.

Really?? Only out of process, sunshine and snake? That seems like a surefire way to kick sunshine out. Nobody in their right mind is going to vote for process or snake. I guess it's a non-issue, it's just one thing, just kind of rubs me the wrong way. Ah well.

ah, that's more reasonable, i guess. i hope it doesn't sound like i'm trying to start an argument or anything, I was just commenting on what others had been saying/doing. i don't know all too much about what has/hasn't been done so i've only been going off of various threads. apologies.

Only reason it was restricted to certain maps (the 3 least popular) was to prevent all the teams just voting out their worst map, I think.

Why wasn't gravelpit added to the map pool without removing a map ? I understand why you would only use x amount of maps in an etf2l season for example, but having a bigger map pool in a separate tournament wouldn't make the tournament worse, would it ?

It would have to be adapted or just accepting that one map wouldn't be picked or banned, since all maps are either picked or banned in either bo3 or bo5. I suppose I'm looking at this the wrong way. I'm thinking of it as if you are picking heroes in dota for example, where you obviously can't ban all of them and can only pick 10 out of 100+. Perhaps taking out a map was the best thing to do.

I get that some players don't like it, but from a spectator's perspective, Sunshine is easily the better map.

i for one support sideshows rushed and very irresponsible decision. gravelpit was voted out for trivial issues and players are children who would never try a new map without being forced. go joshua!

It's been allowed all season. AFAIK this whitelist is the ETF2L S22 whitelist but with jumper weapons banned.

So in other words, Sideshow is the caped, bulldick-eating hero competitive TF2 needs, but not the one we deserve?

Don't know if I'm excited to see gravelpit played again or not. Probably not, but a map like gpit that hasn't been played in a while could cause some interesting upsets, if it isn't permabanned.
