A Great Season for AG

Good evening everyone. I just wanted to make a quick post to say it has been a successful season with AG! Our teams for sure did us proud in all divisions except for invite only because we did not sponsor invite this season.

AG Main- 1st ESEA TeamPage: http://play.esea.net/teams/42469
AG Intermediate- 2nd ESEA TeamPage: http://play.esea.net/teams/60947
AG Open- 7th ESEA TeamPage: http://play.esea.net/teams/77892
AG Highlander- 3rd Platinum (Now called The Electric Temptations)
TeamPage: http://www.ugcleague.com/team_page.cfm?clan_id=5527

I apologize to the teams for not be on task as AG has been in the past. The website has been down and wasn’t updated as much as we wanted. In addition, steam group announcements were also not as frequent as we would have liked. To the AG teams and players please feel free to contact me with any feedback you may have. Thank you again for a great season of Team Fortress 2 and continued support with Apocalypse Gaming. You all represented us very well! Cheers

I'm blaming Mike for letting my team die.
But it's mostly my fault for not paying attention to how bsc's teams turned out.

Honestly, this doesn't have anything to do with Nahanni. If you don't like the way main turned out then I dunno what to say. We barely had the motivation to get through the season with any roster iteration and after we made our first change to try at a legitimate season bsc left. At the time it was very close to finals so I was pretty stressed out and worried about that more than TF2 so I just went with the first solution suggested to me instead of having 5 people unsatisfied all the time. The playoffs weren't even a roll Rentahomies and Streethoops were really impressive.

If anyone really wants to talk about it add me: http://steamcommunity.com/id/Deselect/

Our team formed two days before the beginning of the season and panic immediately snatched up AG as a sponsor. Ultimately I wouldn't have had them sponsor us because honestly I didn't even know if we were going to make it past week 2. It wasn't a right fit but panic got us picked before we even had a roster settled. My sincerest apologies to anyone I've offended and I'm truly sorry for hurting AG. It's hard to manage a team when everyone is always upset.

I was fine with how this season turned out. I didn't enjoy playing for a lot of reasons, none of which were my teammates. Mike and blank were some of the best people to hang around with. If I hadn't been cut, I would have quit within a few weeks due to real life being more interesting.

I own some responsibility for not managing AG as it should be managed. If there are any concerns regarding AG and sponsorship then please feel free to message me. I am always open for suggestions. AG has been one of the best sponsors in TF2. I don't not want this thread to be just about main when the other AG teams did amazingly well. Thanks again to the teams for some great TF2 gaming!

Branding. AG is a brand.

"The core value of AG is about community, teamwork, volunteerism and good sportsmanship"

Each team represents the sponsor, as does Nahanni.
Some people don't agree with how the ag main team's roster turned out this season.
They certainly didn't have the best image in people's minds. Especially after taking immediate action on other AG members who had a bad reputation as well.

forcing a team to cut a close friend to protect the brand during

Personally, I don't think it was a bad thing. Mike did what a good captain would do, keep your team happy, and keep your team alive. He set a goal and accomplished it. It certainly wasn't to roll every team. The competition was fierce, and it was great from a spectator's standpoint. Main was exciting to watch this season. It molded and finely tuned rentahomies and streethoops without a doubt. I watched matches all season long(for every team not just top 3) Every game was close for the most part.
Are people salty. of course, it's the nature of competition, you play from the heart, you lose, it hurts, you deduct why this could have happened, excuses come to mind, single out an excuse for losing,(an easy target in this case)and there you go. you did it. you've created salt.

Nahanni's post in general, completely unnecessary. It reads like a personal message between the teams or a "good job teams" speech in mumble, in private. Instead it comes off as completely arrogant. Look how good my teams did. I looked at the rosters pre season, Hand picked any team i fucking wanted because there is no other sponsor in tf2.
Gaining what? branding? "growing tf2"?!

No one plays tf2 because of a sponsor. AG is nothing more than steam names and league fees.

If you want your brand to grow, do the work. Create content. Do something.

Mike did demo reviews all season. People knew about it.
AG teams did mentoring... and no one knew anything about it. Create a youtube channel. Have an AG twitch where your teams can cast or do something game knowledge related. Kaidus did that rollout thing. It was great. I can go on and on.

Instead the presence you make is when drama comes up. No content is created. You step forward like the red cross after a hurricane... I'll be the one that saves tf2 from malware.

sure.

I'd like to say that the only reason I played main this season was because of the 2-roster invite rule. After I left that team, I joined iT as a backup and realized that I was quite literally locked out of playing the game (unless iT decided to cut someone and give me a spot). Pretty dissatisfied with the way the season went, I wanted to play main as a class in which I didn't have much experience. It was really fun and I'm sorry to anyone who thought I was sand-bagging or trying to get money. I just wanted to play after I could no longer watch that.

GGs to both Rent-a-Homies and Street Hoops. Playing both teams taught me a lot about pocket.

I don't understand why anyone would view Nahanni's post as arrogant. She seems legitimately proud of the teams they sponsored this season. Maybe it's just because I like to see other people succeed, but I don't see anything wrong with it. I know some people may not like to see others succeed but I think that's maybe because of their own shortcomings. Once you reach true confidence you will never be jealous again.

The points about more content are valid though, AG should be out there more during the season and not just when it's all said and done.

maybe because ag main team had 3 lan caliber invite players on it? regardless of whether they were offclassing or not, if we went to go offclass in main we wouldn't drop a more than 10 rounds. its nothing that you should be proud about. i understand clockswork's situation and don't blame them for wanting to play still in main, but it shouldn't be treated like its some huge accomplishment.
