Along with shade's videos, a few other people are going to LAN that will record stuff (tagg comes to mind, and I've heard others talk about it). If you like player/ screen/ keyboard videos, I'll be posting HD player spotlight videos on my channel, along with some interviews if anyone will give me any.

This LAN will have the highest tf2 coverage to tf2 quality ratio of all time, and it probably won't ever be beaten. So yeah.

watch this would of been the saving grace of lan this season, now its gonna be a snooze fest

there was a lan where the first place team just dominated every other team, i doubt this lan will be like that, at the very least the finals are gonna be good

s12 was a case where... 1 team was several notches above everybody else.

This lan *at least* could see a few matches going down either way.

I think, despite them not being super popular, anime, under the right conditions, could certainly take rounds off of the other teams present and maybe snatch maps if they get things rolling.

LiT maybe doesn't have a b4nny, but they do have some solid experience in Smaka and a nice mix of players, they're like 1-2 reasonable discussions with each other away from being on par with mix^ and IT ceteris peribus.

I don't really know how to feel about mix^. I generally secretly go into LAN wanting Mix^ to win, mostly because I've liked how they've played in the past from a spectator standpoint, and I have a massive soft-spot for harbleu on med (and plat on pocket but that was not to be; cruel fate).

TBH as long as mix^ doesn't get thrashed the night before matches and IT plays as consistently as they have, we may be setting up for a LAN that *could* be as good as s10. The teams are even quite similar - although IT remains undefeated (which is superior to the position that quantic had as quantic lost a single game) they come in the returning champs and top seed. Mix^ gave them a solid match, 5-4, and also came out ahead for the zowie tournament, so an upset may be in the cards...just like s10...

but who knows at least those 2 matches should be most excellent.

iT and Mixup dominate the opposition, potentially sharing an epic upper bracket and Grand Final - the only good games will be these, perhaps LiT and Anime will have a decent match as well, but half of it will be forgettable.

Mixup/iT are as even as two teams can get. It's always between 2 teams at lan. The bottom 2 barely ever matter. The season where LG won from the 4th seed is the only one I can think of that was any different

At most of the LANs there's at least three teams that can make the finals without being considered an upset. Not sure what you're smoking, pot.

Probably just going to wait for the VODs of this one, just because I don't feel like following/rooting for any one team. May the best team win, ofc.

All this said, there better be some excellent casting, commentary, and camerawork. This lan will get a lot more attention than lans past. Tf2 outpost has doubled the size of some streams, and I don't think lan will be too different. I'm interested in what the viewership will be.

Also has anyone talked to John about the possibility of a front-page slot for finals? I can't imagine all that much going on in the gaming world on a Sunday morning, and mix^ v iT (assuming that's the finals matchup) very well could be an excellent first-glimpse of comp tf2 to twitch viewers.

Besides season 8, Mixup/b4nny have been 1st/2nd since like season 6 and they've been 1st/2nd seed going into lan besides season 9 (i think) where LG was 4th. It's the same deal this season

S11 too, mix and lg were #3 and #4.

Kevin has a good point. Whoever casts this lan needs to be very careful not to do what Slin did last lan.

ie. don't be talking about how awful games are when you have thousands of people watching. For example, chinese dota games can be god awful (I don't know much about dota but this is my experience from watching), however, while the casters might point out how slow it is they never say the game is a bad game. Keep talking about whats happening or something else.
