Script to Hide +/- Frags

Click to install if you have Tampermonkey or Greasemonkey installed.

// ==UserScript==
// @name        Hide Frags
// @namespace   http://steamcommunity.com/id/langeh
// @include        http://www.teamfortress.tv/*
// @include        http://teamfortress.tv/*
// @version     1
// ==/UserScript==

var tftvStyle =
    '.post-frags {' +
    'display: none' +
    '}';
GM_addStyle(tftvStyle);

Should work with both Tampermonkey (Chrome) and Greasemonkey (Firefox).

I've been using this for a few months now, and it makes browsing this site a bit more enjoyable. Figured others might feel the same.

It's telling me that the add-on is corrupt when I drop it in to install it. Restarting Firefox did not fix it. (Firefox)

Do you have Greasemonkey installed? Or is Greasemonkey corrupt?

Also, thanks for this Lange. I really like it. :)

I admit I haven't tested it in firefox. It may not work. The script it simple enough though that altering it to behave in GreaseMonkey shouldn't be too hard.

I got it to work, but I had to actually do it manually via New User Script instead of just dragging and dropping. Otherwise, works great now. Thanks.

Shouldn't care what randoms think of you, not many people in this community are worth respecting, so a few minus frags shouldn't throw you off speaking your mind. Form your own opinions, don't follow the crowd...etc #yolo I love anime, #MLP, Epsilon > iT, cbear is a bad caster, mustardoverlord is a humble person.

I agree. This add-on was a complete waste of time. I'd rather you fix the glitch in MGE where you can't rocket jump immediately upon respawning.

Lange hasn't actively worked on MGE since 2.0 was released, so I'm not sure why you'd expect him to be fixing the bugs in it. You're better off filing a bug report so that the people who are (namely Cprice) actually know about the bug.

if you are willing to hide +/- frags, then you probably understand that it does not necessarily reflect the legitimacy of a post but instead shows that people like/dislike or agree/disagree with the poster. +/-frags are useful in some ways.

if you classify +/- as karma you're doing it wrong

they mostly just are whether the community likes the content of the post or not

or if its an invite player

Sorta related, here's a script that collapses posts that reach a -frag threshold. http://userscripts.org/scripts/show/164675

Honestly just do away with moderation and let the frags decide the way it's supposed to be. +1 technosex.

God no. Dramatic shit-flinging is really all they delete, and we don't need that.

This is a good plugin, but idk, it really impacts how people respond to your future posts if you get bombarded in a thread. And people don't post to say they agree our disagree since they can just click a button, so you might not get any response to a post.

The plugin to hide 75% of mason's "posts" would be useful, but it'll also hide perfectly respectful people on the wrong side of a popular discussion thread. Still not totally worth using :/

The current frag rating of a post, whether consciously or not, colors the perception of how people view it and interpret it themselves.

This doesn't ensure good posts gets upvoted and bad posts gets downvoted- it mostly just feeds into a bandwagon effect.
Ideally you would have a system that would initially hide +/- frags until X amount of time has passed so that you're not constantly influencing people's perceptions of how they should view a post before they have made their own unbiased assessment.
