Not going to lie but i am really surprised this is the first real shitstorm on twitch, with how many people stream and how many more watch those streams per day its kinda amazing that nothing has happened sooner and more often

Horror is head admin in that he oversee's all other admins, as well as the emotes. He is definitely a member of staff, the fact he wears an admin badge instead of a staff badge is likely just choice.

I find it really sinister that Twitch have asked for the threads to be removed from Reddit. It can't be easy for Twitch_Jon as he can't just remove a large number of his modding staff. Yes a lot of people would apply to replace them but it would be very time consuming for him to vet them all and if it is true that this Horror character is indeed the only paid admin then removing the person who would logically conduct the recruitment is even more of a ball ache. Also, he seems like the type of idiot who would try and drag the name of twitch through the mud saying he was sacked because he was gay blah blah.
The silence from the higher ups at Twitch needs to be broken soon because if enough people jump ship to the hitbox platform then the money will go down. It's the streamers who have the power in this situation and by the looks of it the speedrun community is large, vocal and pissed off. It would only take a few leaders/celebs in the community to do a Moses and lead everyone off. Or at least, that is my opinion.

Hitbox.tv is still shady (even if it the CTO argument is thrown around, it doesn't make it any more trustworthy because it's still new and he couldn't fix the shit situation before). Jwong made a post on that reddit thread about what's currently happening (doing unbans, as it seems most people have gotten unbanned) and TwitchTVSupport twitter is finally saying they are doing something about this. Whether or not something does happen is a different matter.
Either way, today is going to be a fun day. There's definitely going to be a juicy announcement later. Twitch gets it's first real negative PR test.

Best (viable) way to go seems to be to get popular unpaid streamers to move over until Hitbox becomes a more established platform.

In my opinion, a good business would have higher ups take matters into their own hands and not let a situation like this get out of control. I may have just missed something, but without a statement from a higher up it feels like twitch just wants to sweep this under the rug and ignore the issue.
