if at all possible it's best to physically hold mice in your hand if you've never owned one, people could write the most detailed description of a mouse's weight and feel and it'll all go out the window because of one small physical feature that breaks the deal for you. both mice you're looking at are popular.

you can also consider looking at some newer mice that are lighter and wireless, which is a great feature a lot of people who have never tried wireless underestimate until they try it

restating what others have said but just get a replacement if you like the mouse. my fk2 died a few years ago after years of near daily use which made me experience a mouse crisis so i ended up spending way more money trying out different mice than if i had just blew the 70 bucks (at the time) on another fk2.

I have owned a EC1-C and it is a huge fuck off mouse (heavy too), unless if you actually have gorilla hands then get a EC2/3-C and it'll still be a heavy wired mouse but with a great shape.

zowie ec3 was actually pretty small, so ec2 probably best bet if u have gorilla hands.

also consider looking into the deathadder v3 wireless or the vaxee np01/np01-s/outset AX if ur set on ambi mice
edit: ergo mice***^^^^

can also vouch for the deathadder V3, especially if you use a palm grip or have big hands. battery life is good, it's really light (64g) considering the size, and the name shortens to DAV3. the V3 also fixes the creaking issues the V2 had and it seems better put together.

biggest downside IMO is the scroll wheel, it's pretty mushy and can be hard to tell when it'll actually notch over. razer's software also sucks ass, but that's been true for the past 10 years lol

So Rival 5 is a big ambi mouse, there is Steelseries Aerox 5, which has the exact same shape and button placement with lighter weight, the switches and sensor are the same tho.
I also recommend the logi superlight, but its shape is a bit different when you palm it, the back end will against the center of the palm because its shape is more ball-like, and it's a flatter mouse, so the center palm to the end of middle finger area may not contact the mouse if you're using superlight.

As for big ergo mice, both ec1-c and DAV3 are good, but I'll wait till Pulsar release their xlite v3 size 1

would only recommend the ec1-c if you have huge hands and have more of a palm grip, for any reasonably sized hands the ec2-c is better if you use more of a claw/fingertip grip.

deathadder v3 wired is on sale right now for $54, less than what you'd pay for a zowie, amazing value for a mouse (59g, 8k hz polling). the wireless will run you around $150 usually. DAV3 is in between the ec1 and ec2 and is actually the closest to your rival 5 in size

damn these threads always bring out the tiny baby hand havers

I went from rival 300 to microsoft pro intellimouse and never looked back, but the rival 5 looks like a different shape

also zowie mice all have nasty shiny coating & terrible scroll wheels, dunno if they've fixed the laggy switches yet either

you can hold down MOUSE4 or 5, I forget, when plugging it in to lower the debounce time on the clicks in the newer models

I have 21/11 hands and my ZA-11c large is way too small for me. So I just ordered an ec1-c Large. If I don't like it i'll sell it to you for half price

I hope you understand that the shipping would probably cost around as much as a new ec1-c
