Fully Discord Based Automated Pug System

I did some thinking, and I figured it would be possible to create a fully automatic pug system through discord. One that analyzes players, assigns teams and servers, allows queue ups and more.
For the sake of demonstration, this is how it would look like: https://i.imgur.com/oW86bJM.png
(medics get to pick only one player)
Note that the system would prevent Fat Kids and prioritize whoever joined first over skill (because if you want that system just go to PugChamp, I'm trying to create a system that'd work for everyone).
But my question is, how would you feel about a fully discord based pug system? What do you think the downsides are? Would you play such a thing?

Looking forward to hear more criticism ^^

Over here in Australia, we are very close to finishing a bot that will do these things. I'm sure we'd be happy to release it publicly.

features our bot currently has (or almost finished):
- Automatic booking / exec of servers (sourced from Qixalite in AU but can easily be changed to serveme etc)
- Automatic announcement to multiple servers if needed
- Option for PugChamp style team selection or medic in-game picking
- Automatic voice channel dragging for players

Tino_Discord is a pile of garbage.

I never understood why everyone thinks discord is garbage, it literally does the same thing as mumble but looks nicer and saves messages. Ya some people have bad mic quality when they first install it but all it takes is two minutes of settings to fix it.

I hear you and it sounds good, but I'm doing this to try & avoid the PugChamp system, because I feel it gives low div players no place to play the game. I don't know about Australia, but right now if you were a low div player trying to play a competitive match your only choices are TF2Center - which is a joke or an in-house pug/mix, which don't happen that often. but, the automatic server booking , and the integrated in game annoucments sounds like something my bot will definitely include.

I'm a Java pleb though so odds are I won't be able to get inspired by your code <_<

you can't host your own servers for one

not really a fan of being locked out of communications/forced to use awful in-game voice codec when something gets fucked up on their end

discord uses up so much resources which should really be unacceptable for a company of their size, an alternative client called ripcord literally uses like 75% less processing power and it's being developed by ppl who aren't pedo furries lol

the whole 'discord team being pedophile furry weebs' thing is kind of a turn off for using their service, but i do like the concept

As long as it's easy to use + accessible to us low div plebs it sounds great. I have had problems with discord servers acting up (especially when too many people are in the voice channel), couldn't that be a problem?
Is there anyway to have a bot that links directly to mumble, like how TF2c does it? So you setup the pug in discord but talk over mumble idk

Discord audio is shittier in every way compared to mumble (latency, quality, options).

Dscord user management is shittier in every way compared to mumble.

Discord as a company received substantial funding from such privacy-conscious organizations as tencent and time warner. Discord has nothing but VC money and will almost certainly start selling user data/pushing ads, just look at the privacy policy (especially the forced arbitration clause they added to it 6 months ago). Don't worry though, they promise that they'll make their investors happy (>$700M valuation) by selling stickers and animated profile pictures.

The only thing going for it over mumble/irc is persistent chat, which you can get from plenty of other places (and which you really don't need for a pug system).

Edit: Also worth noting, Discord is proprietary with unspecified security (which they promise is sufficient), while mumble is open-source and encrypts both text and voice chat.

In theory, the entire system could be based off discord while VC could be based off mumble, but that sounds like a little bit of a hassle. Though if the whole discord selling user data theory is correct that's another story

it does much more to your personal data, messages, and recordings. Besides it probably embeds some kind of web browsing tech, which explains the resource usage
