georgebaiiPermzillaNice, 12 teams in playoffs yet again. Don’t know how many times this needs to happen before admins realise that having this many teams and this many games screws teams over and forces teams to play with mercy or not at all.

You could easily narrow this list down to 6 or 7 (still too much imo but understandable) and it would avoid all this mess. Yes I’m annoyed because it’s directly affecting my team but I complain about this every season. We cannot play every day with our roster and I’m sure there are plenty of the 12 teams in a similar position.

Just need the admins to put some high teams in high and deal with the shit they get from it. Thus is ridiculous now.

Just my opinion.

Thoughts?

1).team 2).perminators 3).lego
imo these are the obvious teams to get into prem but there's too many teams competing for prem spots right now, most people don't really want to play anymore and making them play 2-3+? games a week including scrims is just gonna burn people out more especially those in perminators, maybe try something new a have a div under prem but above high for teams that did good in high but aren't ready for prem or if there's just too many teams in prem, might fuck up etf2l a bit but it's probably better than what's going on rn

because as much as people love tf2, it just doesn't feel like the game is going to give anything back to playing a lot of matches and scrims and having to factor in work, not a lot of people are going to want that, that's what i meant

most teams play 3-4 days a night anyway, this will just replace their scrims for a couple of days, it's not a big deal

While the logs that adysky did provide do show a decline from not only my already poor personal performance but also for Loli Squad as a whole kind of, we're still confident that we could clear up our pre-season mistakes in time before we will need to play the first officials in these qualifiers now.

Guys, I was just subtly pointing out that the Yank guy was likely making a prediction and writing off Loli Squad without knowing if they're good or shit.

I didn't expect the Spanish Inquisition...

I don't agree with the view that "upsets" are in any way desirable in preseason play-offs. They are an instrument through which you aim to craft the most enjoyable season – entertainment value is secondary. The unnecessary inclusion of additional (and quite frankly undesirable) candidates simply adds more variables and therefore more potential for randomness of outcome. Obviously you still expect the “favourites” to qualify, but so much can go wrong outside of their control when forced to play four matches in four days – not to mention the very real possibility that they are unable to field complete rosters due to short notice and inflexible/demanding scheduling. As a neutral spectator, bolstering the potential for these particular teams to be eliminated in playoffs (through an excessive number of matches) when they so clearly and significantly boost overall interest in the season itself is very concerning. At the end of the day ETF2L isn't just a league – the seasons constitute the entirety of the European scene for any given third of the year, and if they aren't able to reliably facilitate the teams that actually generate interest from viewers, then it is not fulfilling it's function.

I appreciate that some kind of play-off is necessary, but for it it to be on this scale seems like either cowardice or incompetence. It is very clear that some teams have a lot more to contribute to the season than others, and by making them jump through so many hoops the admins risk severely diminishing the enjoyment of the season for everyone.

Inexperienced players will become good by playing against better opponents so a lower seeded team 'upsetting' one of the favourites doesn't necessarily harm the scene.
E.g. Nunya went into prem playoffs as underdogs, won it, lost some games that season, but now they are a solid prem team.
I'm not gonna assume the plans of some of these old school players, but these veteran teams have a history of quitting After a season so i think the argument that them being in prem benefits the scene doesn't necessarily hold up.
Also why is it such a problem to play 3 officials in one week for 1 week? The dates were announced early enough.
