After I launch steam, tf2 will validate the files. It only does it the first launch of tf2 after opening steam when my computer starts up. I defragged but it still keeps doing it. Fix?

the only way to fix this for me was to verify game cache then defrag and repeat if it doesnt work the first time. Its annoying and it doesnt always work. Sometimes it fixes itself by not doing anything

shutdown steam before you shutdown your computer. That always fixes it for me.

Restart your computer, when opening steam, and you want to launch tf2, just defrag and verify your files. Best thing without reinstalling, if it keeps doing this after that process, try to delete all your files (move into another folder) and shut steam cloud off.

you're defragging the gcf files, not your drive.
