thin white line across monitor screen

so I just noticed this super thin and faint white line going across the top of my monitor
this happened to my last monitor so i assume it's some sort of defect (although I had that monitor for like 4 years at that point, this one isn't even a year old)
i've already tried rebooting my monitor, reseating the VGA plugin, etc, nothing helped

is there any way to fix this or should i just try for the warranty?

Is it exactly one row of pixels?

If possible test a different monitor with the same connection?

What "VGA plugin"?

if its an aperture grill CRT an horizontal line should be normal
if not, i guess you should use warranty

it's an asus vg248qe

honestly it's not even that noticeable (and it's out of the way) so i'll probably just live with it, considering it didn't come with a warranty from what i can find

could just be burn in. did you leave your monitor on for a long time? if so it should fade if it wasn't too long.

burn in wouldn't happen to just a single row of pixels

What do you mean, very faint?

Try looking at some solid colours. Red, green and blue ideally. Watch if the line changes.

Is it the top line or just near the top?

Like, if i look at a color, it's just slightly whiter than the dominant color.

edit: I can't even see it now. It might have just went away lmao. I have no idea.

1. Are you serious?
2. Slightly white than red/green/blue? How does that work?
3. Try white.

But so far it sounds like a dead contact to me.

while true, a lot of people don't even know what a single row of pixels looks like. without a picture, a "single row of pixels line" could actually be something like this:

http://i46.tinypic.com/2n7kq2u.jpg

this is actually a photo of real burn-in, but because of its thickness most people would actually call it a one pixel line.

and based on his comments (brighter than the color it should be but not solid white, faded over time) it has every sign of burn in.

bumping this because i'm pretty sure it's some sort of burnin, only shows up after i've had my computer on all day

the closest thing that I could see causing it is like the top of my address bar in my browser but it's not perfectly aligned and idk why that would be causing it
