MapleAustinAm I the only one who gets more upset by the cops moving the camera? Isn't recording the police legal? It is, but my understanding was the streamer didn't want thousands of people see him getting arrested and so told the police to shut it down. Could be wrong though.

After listening and watching again, I heard nothing about the streamer asking him to shut it off. He mentions people are watching, and the cop moves the webcam. Shit like that is what upsets me.

This is not something to joke about. It's a serious issue that can put many innocent lives in danger, including the target, especially if there happens to be a real emergency at the same time.

This is not even remotely funny, or even something to take lightly. Think of it from a POV from someone that is getting their house raided. They are likely spending multiple days in a jail, but they now need a lawyer in most cases. This shit is honestly a little bit scarey.

Those people who think the police were a little rude or rough have no understanding of what a raid entails for those doing the raiding.

The swat have no idea what can be behind any door and whether the room is filled with a gamer at his computer or a guy with a IED and an automatic rifle. The police cannot make any assumptions about whether the guy they are raiding is fake or not until the place has been completely secured.

The video is kind of interesting because there is this contrast between the 'fun' of video game counter terrorism and then real life counter terrorism. Although it was a little funny when the terrorist team won the round and the game says "Terrorists Win".

The people who ultimately lose however are the tax payers because it takes time and money to assemble and maintain a swat crew. And with a policy of taking every threat seriously it will only cost more.

sure its a high pressure, potentially very dangerous situation.
it doesn't mean they have to be classless and unprofessional.

They could easily say get on the ground, don't move. instead of don't fucking move ya hear me boy whats funny?? and not step on his face when hes clearly not resisting and is potentially innocent.

there's nothing inherent in that job which says you have to be a fucking asshole. their true colors show under pressure.

if they were calm collected respectful but forceful then perhaps I would respect them.

if he was bearded and wearing a turban instead of being a "skinny white kid" would that make it more reasonable for the cops to "step on his face"? what relevance does the way he looks play in their on the fly response to a life threatening situation? do you think that because this person looks normal they should drop their guard and start dicking around because theres clearly no danger? or do you think maybe assumptions like that gets people like them killed and they decided to take that shit seriously, however unlikely their first impressions of the situation would make it seem?

when have you ever willingly put your life in danger to protect strangers, and in what fucking universe do you think youre qualified to pass judgement on how these men react in a high stress high risk situation like responding to a bomb threat?

You are really retarded if you suggest the swat team shouldn't take the call seriously. If they are sent out to deal with a threat, do you think they will get their nice-guy attitude on, and knock on the door? You are talking like they are just doing this for the fun of it. If this had been a real threat, this kind of behavior would be necessarry. But because fat idiots on the internet like you think they are funny, shit like this happens.

Well, on the bright side he didn't get shot, and has grounds for a lawsuit on several accounts. His 4th amendment rights were violated when they looked at his phone without a warrant (even if you're arrested your phone is still protected until they get a warrant for that - one of the few things the supreme court has agreed upon 9-0 lol). Not to mention damages against the guy who maliciously made the call, if found, is gonna get boned with a potential felony.

I don't think its reasonable to step on someones face (even if you guys do). why would I think it would be reasonable if he had a 'beard and turban?'
also looks are very relevant on gauging how threatening a person or situation is, even for swat..

and please dont act like you know a single thing about me, thanks

zzz.
It's not that I think they shouldn't take it seriously. I merely think the swat team should remain open to the possibility that the person is innocent and should refrain from verbally or physically abusing them. particularly in a situation like this where they have no evidence.

I wouldn't purposely make anyone including my enemies be subjected to police brutality so nah I'm not the reason shit like this happens.

but gj jumping on my clearly not serious post guys. im goin to stop before tf.tv pops a blood vessel

If you're unable to handle acting in a professional manner in high-pressure situations then maybe SWAT team's not the job for you.

I know it's not the biggest deal ever (I'm sure he'll get over the officer being mean to him) but there are standards of behaviour that are expected of you and that you agree to by becoming a police officer and "it's hard" is kind of a poor excuse for not meeting them.

They could totally do their jobs without being rude to this guy, you're totally right. But how much attention are they paying to being respectful when one tactical mistake could get them or their close friends killed? Being a ruder than you should is really natural for people under stress. I'm sure you've at one point been a dick to someone in the heat of the moment that you really didn't mean.

I get your point but they sign up for this job, nobody forces them to be there. They are public servants after all and I just think they should strive to act a little more professionally.

It's a minor issue in the grand scheme of things but I don't think they portrayed themselves in the best light here.
