Team doesn't listen?

I'm a div 5 medic in etf2l and I got appointed to be the maincaller in my team. My calls are somewhat good and clear, decision making is ok, I can take track of ubers and I press tab but 50% of the time when I make a call the team just doesn't react to it or does something else than what I told them (e.g. pushing without my permission, not pushing when I tell them too etc.) We still win most of our matches but I get really upset and frustrated everytime we fail a push because of them not listening. So TFTV, what do?

Confront them after the game about why they didn't listen to your calls, and explain to them why it is important if they do not know and that most of your pushes fail because of it.
If they are some cocky wannabes, what sometimes is the case with lower level players then tell them that if they don't start doing what you are telling them what to do or start doing things right that you will look for a replacement.
Having a whole team discuss things in mumble helps,it also can help spotting the players that take it serious and then ones who don't.
One Last thing, watch an stv together if they don't want to do the things I already mentioned.
Good Luck

Make your mic louder so they understand who is in charge :3
Then you can scream into their ears, till they bleed.

It´s really annoying, i´m maincaller on the team i play on aswell. Around the level of div 4 or lower maincallers aren´t perfect, they make missstakes your team probably thinks that you´re making a bad call if they don´t listen. They have to understand that whatever the maincaller says has to be done.
I´ve got somehwat the same problem in my team, people just not listening to me or interupting me while i´m talking.

If you really want to make your team listen to you, you may have to sabotage the relationship slightly, unfortunately. At least in my experience.

I had like 3 paragraphs here giving the situation/backstory of my experience, but I decided to cut it out and just give a tl;dr.
Our main caller got stressed by people not listening. I played the bad guy and just told them that they fix their ears or there isn't a place on the team for them.

Our next scrim went beautifully, everyone comm'd efficiently and listened to everything.

I've learned that the most important thing for a team is that every member on the team fully trusts each other 100% and keeps egos and such nonsense out of the way. You must make sure that this is made clear to EVERYONE on the team, and that there is no room for such garbage on your team.

Bad calls happen. It's inevitable. In this case, just make a note of it and talk about it after the scrims/PCWs or whatever.

Hi, I've brought many teams over 15 years to championships and top placements. The following applies to any FPS title with callers:

Aim requires practice.
Movement requires practice.
Coordination requires practice.
Calling requires practice.

Your team needs to understand that you will make mistakes just like they will miss shots and be out of position. If they don't follow the calls you won't know if they are good or bad ones.

One way to improve quickly is to have your team religiously follow both your good and especially your bad calls, keep notes and discuss after your scrimmage/match/etc.

Always make new mistakes! :)

If you're keen on improving then you need to be in an environment where the above happens, otherwise chances are high that you're in the wrong place or with the wrong people.

Let everyone on your team know that you are the best

Cherry pick a handful of logs to reinforce your point and make ample usage of "Don't talk, you're bad"

Being Div 5, this isn't a knock on you by the way, a lot of folks on your team may not fully understand *why* you're making certain calls - this is the problem on up to the upper levels anyhow. After your pcw's if you noticed somebody overextending or pushing without calling it - ask them why they did, explain how it made it harder for your team to operate when they did that, and why, perhaps, they should never do that.

Medic main calling is all about directing pushes with heals - explain who is healed, when somebody is fully buffed tell them to "do stuff" in fights (that's usually what I say anyways) explain what you want done with the heals.

Another good habit, is if you know you have advantage, explain that you have it and that nobody should do anything stupid because you're just going to win based on that. The same goes for when you're building - you can't hand out buffs and heal hurt people if you're building uber really hard. There's nothing worse than getting ready to push with advantage - and then somebody dies and your whole push is screwed.

Give it up, Your Team is probably too bad for you - leave them and be happy
OR...

You could try to adress calls directly, something like "ROAMER,jump on their med in 3"
or "[insertscoutname], stay close, I will uber you first and the demo follows up, we force them and regroup in upper"

Remember: You know best what the ubersituation is and what you want to accomplish with it.
