SamusWe'd just like to be careful because what is considered a QOL addition and what isn't can become a slippery slope really fast.

Things like this are better off being dealt with as they come up. It's not like we're seeing something like this every day, but rather every 6 months to a year. I understand worrying about QOL changes getting out of hand, but I feel like this is a really weak place to draw the "line in the sand". If the discussion were permanently having teammate outlines, and health bars on your screen at all times similar to what overwatch/valorant do, that'd probably be a more reasonable place to have the discussion. This is something that has already been acknowledged to not really effect high level play.

I think if a QOL change isn't even considered important at a high level of play, it's hard to also argue it as a step into making comp too baby mode.

this is arguably less useful than seeing teammate health, which youve been able to do for years now, considering the frequency at which each stat is called. admins are huge vaginas for pretending this is worth regulating. the only reason this isnt in the game with the new mp_tournament hud is because valve probably didnt even think to add it

Tholei think going off gut instinct for a lot of this shit is part of what makes tf2 so much better than its peers. tons of crucial information is not really just given to you 24/7. better players will have better gut instinct when it comes to uber ad/disad, enemy health, how many stickies your demo has loaded, etc. all part of the charm and skill ceiling.

I agree with this mind set. I wouldn't mind it being allowed but I find the game much more enjoyable with less known elements. More room for mistakes and gamesense differences between players, more effort needed for correct comms.
