What is your dominant hand?
and what hand do you use your fork and knife?
Apparently using the knife on the left hand, and the fork on the right is weird....

I spent a while as a kid learning to utilize every type of utensil in both hands

Imagine eating soup with two spoons at once

American version: Fork in left hand, knife in right hand. After cutting, put knife down and switch fork to right hand before eating. The pointy bits on the fork should face up.

European version: Fork in left hand, knife in right hand. Turn the pointy parts of the fork upside down when you bring the food to your mouth.

No need fork, no need knife, rip and tear meat with hand/teeth, then swallow.

All my siblings and I are right handed, but we all hold our forks with our right hand because our mom taught us how to eat and she is left handed

this prob isnt the 'proper' way to do it but the brainlet in me always wants to use my dominant (right) hand for whatever is the more 'important' part

so if im eating pasta or smt with no knife ill have the fork in my right
but if im eating steak i have the knife in my right and fork in my left
gigabrain option 3: cut all the steak before eating any of it, fork in right and knife in left to guide stuff onto the fork

This isnt even brainlet, this is dope. I use fork in right hand all da time its more important to have fine control of da fork than da knife. Fuck table etiquette.

I have the knife in my right hand but after cutting I lay the knife down and switch the fork from my left hand into my right hand for the eating part just to switch back for cutting again

I have never questioned that but now that I'm thinking about is it seems really stupid

I actually remember the moment of my life that I decided which way to hold them. I'm right handed and as I sat there and thought about it I decided that for cutting steak the fork was the guide and the knife just just needed to go back and forth while being guided in the slot of the fork. Therefore the fork was the precision utensil and should be in the good hand. It wasn't until years later that I learned this was backwards. I also brush my teeth and shave left handed.

tldr right handed, hold fork in right hand.
