CS, TF2, and sensitivity.

Sup, guys. I don't know if this specifically goes here, but it's worth a shot.

Do those of you who play both TF2 and CSGO use the same sensitivity in both games? I've been trying that, but my sensitivity in TF2 (about 9 inches per 360) is too high for CS, and the sensitivity I'm best at in CS:GO (about 15 inches per 360) is a bit too low for TF2.

It's worth noting that I main roamer in TF2, which somewhat affects my sens choice.

(My wrists are fucked, which is why I use a low-ish sens for roamer.)

It'd be nice to know if other people who play both games either use the same sens, or a different one for each game.

Went from 1.4in/360 in tf2 to 14inches in both games (roamer in tf). The hardest part is learning rj again since now prety much you have to move your hand from the center to a corner of the mpad, instead of just the wrist.

My humble advice is play jump maps to get comfortable with moving your arm more, then mge and flickshots shouldn't be a problem since 15in/360 isn't too crazy.

like 7 in / 360 in tf2
something like 18 in / 360 in cs
6 in / 360 in quake/arenas

when i played swbf2 i used one of those weird logitech ball mice so i can't even hazard a guess for that game but the sense was probably like 2 in/360 lol

CS:GO is much more about mid to long range fights with much smaller movements of the mouse. TF2 often includes lots of short-range flicks and looking around. I have a sensitivity script with high (About 8) and low (About 15) settings in TF2, I exclusively use the low sens setting for CS:GO.

yeah, i played for some clan but i forget their name

i was actually really fucking baller at that game cuz i could dodge anything with my crazy ass mouse

i forgot my alias for swbf2 (I used like 5, didn't settle on turin until i played bfme2 rotwk and wrote articles) so i can't really prove shit but for a 4/5 month period i was one of the best engineers

if using a different sens in each game doesn't fuck with you, do it. most people are worse at soldier with a low sens and worse at csgo with a high sens. some people can play both at the same sens fine and some people choose to use the same sens because changing sensitivity between games messes with their aim.

just do what works for you

I use to play cs with 80cm/360 or something like that but I didn't feel like the tradeoff was worth it

I stopped playing TF2 and started playing CS in cevo last year and found myself using 22.8 in/360 (58.1cm) which is pretty low for CS. I had a somewhat negative experience and now I'm back playing TF2 with 22.8 in/360 as well but now I'm hitting more pipes than before so idk, I don't think it matters, I feel much more comfortable with lots of arm movement vs. little wrist movement. Just do what works.

Edit: I wouldn't recommend my sens by any means, when I rocketjump I tend to need to breathe through my mouth since I am somewhat out of breath due heavy arm movement. :)

24 in/360 in cs

I'm much better at aiming in cs and I think if I reinstalled tf2 I'd use a sens closer to my cs one

I also use roughly a 9 inch sens in tf2 and a 15 inch sens in cs

nearly every top tier csgo player falls in a fairly predictable sens of ranges, roughly between 10 and 40 inches per 360, with the median seeming to be in like the 17 to 22 inch range

I strongly recommend trying that; reaaaally good natural aimers like f0rest and hiko sometimes push things by going up to like a 10 inch 360 but there are maybe 5 or 6 solid or better players in the entire csgo scene who use higher than that

and fyi switching between the two games with two different sensitivities is insanely easy because the games as a whole are so much different anyways

I use 11.8 in / 360 in CSGO (which I'm relatively way better at than TF2)

Yeah I never got why people worried so much about switching between games

In CS you rarely need to aim in more than a 90 degree cone. As long as your positioning is decent you can have a much lower sensitivity. TF2 is much more of a 360 degree game. It's also much more 3 dimensional than cs. Height differences are rarely big in CS and even when they are, you have a good idea of where to look. In tf2, enemies can come from basically anywhere.

I use the same sens in both games (11 in).

I actually try to keep my sensitivities across all my games as close as possible, because it can take me a while to adjust if the difference is too great. Plus it's more comfortable to me.

16 inches for both and a soldier main, but I only just got cs so I guess I might eventually change it? I doubt it though, I like having consistent muscle memory for flicks.
