Okay so the tweet was dumb, some people don't like b4nny, some people do, some people don't like shittalk, some people do, everyone loves lansky, none of these things are likely to change.

Think I got everything.

I think the biggest reason people actually give a shit when he's a prick is because the TF2 community keeps paying for his team to go over to England to compete, and B4nny specifically relies (afaik) very heavily on said community for funds to live day to day. Everyone says dumb shit sometimes or makes mistakes, but you think after quite a few times someone with these things in mind would be a bit more aware of how much of a cunt they're being.

It's no different than mOE or steel in cs. They have this personality that plenty of people dislike, but that appeals to their fanbase. If b4nny has fans who like that he does and says things that most socially adjusted people wouldn't, then power to him. I'm a fan of people getting theirs, and he certainly seems to be doing that successfully.

Wasn't dashner's reply about b4nny's tweet, and nothing to do with Froyo itself in the first place?

dashner was pretty busy throughout the event with production work. Doubt he'd get the time.

Sure, but nobody forces anyone to give money away. Don't like the man, don't donate, simple as that. Especially now that he can earn good money with his stream.

yo I think people need to stop suddenly hating b4nny like this when he isn't that bad. Sure that tweet was pretty fucking stupid (i know it was a joke but it came off as arrogant and unfunny) but people should really chill here. B4nny might be totally socially unaware (just like me) but that doesn't make him a bad person or anything. This isn't the first time here that people have lost their shit and started hating someone because of 1 or 2 things they said or did. B4nny should probably apologize for that tweet but you guys are really overreacting to all this.

Everyone on the planet is flawed and we all say dumb things or act arrogant at times but sometimes its so easy to focus on the negatives of people that you overlook all the positives.

SpaceCadetThere is a difference between giving a reason for a loss and making an excuse for a loss. He rightly laughed in his face for saying the team was"not experienced and only 3 months together". Give me a break, each player on that team has tons of experience.

Could b4nny have done nothing at all? Sure he could have but making excuses is a way of talking shit, so I don't have any problem with his reaction at all.

I got disappointed because Knoxxx is one of my favorite players, and I always saw him as a respectful and stand up guy and it was hard for me to take that cool.

Also I think he was giving a complete real and relevant reason (heh) to why they didn't win, sure Mike and Knoxxx have plenty lan experience and experience playing together. but that's just 1/3 of the team, and they weren't even playing together in the combo. It was the first lan ever for Hafficool, kaptain and forsak3n iirc, half the team was their first lan. Also it's true they were playing together just for 2 months as they were brought in mid season, and forsak3n was brough in weeks before lan since they couldn't find a lanable scout. So I think that's a perfect reasonable answer to the interviewer question, I don't even think he was using that as an excuse, he was saying he picked badlands because regardless of team chemistry it's a map everyone always knows how to play.

And team chemistry does play a big part, how can you argue that b4nny's team that have been together for some form or another (barring 1 or 2 players replacements) for more than 1 year, 4+ lans and 3 seasons aren't more experienced as a team compared to reason where half their team was their first lan and have been playing together for 2 months with that roster.

And he just laughed in his face I was like wtf... that felt so unconfortable... Wasn't the best decision to have both teams together for interviews but still that was totally unnecessary and rude.

Sure, but nobody forces anyone to give money away. Don't like the man, don't donate, simple as that. Especially now that he can earn good money with his stream.

The only way that it'd ever be interesting at a LAN would be if these sorts of teams are sent over. If anyone wants to enjoy watching one of these LANs as a spectator, they are going to donate to a donation drive to help if they are able to. My point is that whether you like B4nny as an individual or not, if you want to support that then you will directly support him in the process. That's fine, but if that person then does shit like this it makes donators have a sour taste in their mouths.

If you are an avid spectator of competitive TF2 and want to support the growth of the game as an eSport or the continued LANs for it that keep it alive and interesting then (if you can) you are going to donate. If people choose not to because of B4nny being a cock then that is directly affecting those things about TF2. If they don't decide against it because they really want to support it they then have every right to be pissed off. Their money is going to an asshole. If you donate and then you see the leader of the team you donated to help effectively being a complete dickhole in the public eye to completely undeserving people that work at the event you donated to get them to then you are going to be pissed off.

I don't think it's that simple really, the notion that it's for the scene as a whole, for the excitement of an international lan, and to maintain a global TF2 event is a big motivator. It's not always tied up in personalities or individuals to that extent, a significant number of people would donate and want to cover the event whoever the teams were as long as they would be competitive.

The fact that people might withdraw that support in whatever form (whether it's as a leading organiser or simply giving a few dollars) because of personalities is a serious net negative. The line of people pissed off with froyo which appears to consist mostly of those selflessly giving their time for nothing keeps getting longer. Draw your own conclusions.
