As much as I am a fan of the series (more so the earlier installments, pls dont hurt me), I gotta say something is fucked about the minimum requirements. Either the new guys have no idea how to code for new hardware or they done fucked up somewhere.

Maybe they're anticipating disk space for the never-ending season of DLC.

Last good Cod was 4, but the best one will probably always be 2. I honestly don't get the difference between every cod after 4, its just the same game with different but similar weapons, slightly differ maps, but in the end all you're left with is just even more bullshit ways for you to die

50 GB of HDD is a relic of the game (probably) being a port of the PS4/XB1 version which both uses BRD's. It's common for developers to fill the entire BRD with repeated stuff to make the disk reader find stuff faster and to also reduce piracy (plus they can add higher quality audio etc).

That said, I think Max Payne 3 was the closest thing to that size on PC and it was like 32 GB, same as Battlefield 3 with all the DLC IIRC. It's pretty bogus if the game releases at 50 GB (can't wait to download the game for 50 hours!!!!)

The only way the rest of the specs make sense is if their definition of minimum isn't actually minimum settings but rather what you need to achieve the same thing as the PS4/XB1 versions (1080p, 60 FPS w/o drops).

#11 it's idtech 3 still but heavily modified. actually while I know the engine gets a lot of flack, it's honestly so far gone from idtech 3 at this point. The difference in engines between Ghosts and CoD4 at this point is like the difference between DotA 2 and Half Life 2 really.

DougHave they made a new engine or is it still modified iD Tech 4?

Pretty sure it's still modified, but it's gotten to the point where there can't be that much left of the original. Still won't consider it an original or new engine, though.

Also, for anyone interested, here's the new trailer

A big scam consoles use is charging a lot for hdd space. So naturally a console port would use a lot of space.

When I read these specs for the first time, it made me realize that I probably need to upgrade when min. specs for a Call of Duty game are higher than what I have, even by a small margin. 2gb less RAM and 1XX lower in GPU series; I might not be that bad off though

i almost bought this game because i thought my friends were going to buy it, but if your system does not meet the minimum specs, it will actually lock you out of the game until you fix it

most of my friends don't have 6 gigs of RAM, and some of them even canceled their preorders on the consoles since they're having fun with bf4 instead

i just wanted to control a dog

You guys have to take into account how much RAM the Dynamic fish AI takes up. Add Dog AI in there and you can obviously see why it needs those specs.

There's apparently a user made fix for that somewhere.

Game is shit, though, even reviewers are not liking it (though there will probably be some paid reviews up later to help boost it's score).

The "fix" is for singleplayer, not multiplayer. I knew I needed to upgrade, but I didn't think this series of all games would get me to do it lol

This is the first COD game I've bought since Modern Warfare 2. I had buyers remorse the millisecond I preordered it. Even worse, my conscious told me to cancel the preorder when I bought it. I didn't follow my heart. Why am I a total idiot?

In all seriousness, i won't fall for another CoD game again until they do a reboot, or bring a new engine into play. The original Modern Warfare was excellent when it came out, but Activision has literally done nothing but repackage the same game for what...5 years now?

I was watching a few of the pro CoD players stream it last night, and it seems like they were all disappointed (dying way too fast, big maps, absolutely nothing new for competitive play). The general consensus of reviewers are giving it mediocre scores at best...except of course ign and their 8.8/10, big surprise there.

BF4 may not have been that big of a change from BF3 for basic gameplay - however they added a lot of new elements with the water attacks playing a huge factor, as well as a complete redesign around how they developed maps. While the BF series may not be the best for "competitive" multiplayer because of it size, it's absolutely fun as hell to pub. 32 v 32 is a blast, especially when you have a squad of friends on your team.
