Sal is right, this is the thread and fundraiser for getting a USA team to i49. There is nothing stopping broder setting up a similar drive - I've no doubt it would get funded, but saying that excess funds from this should go to it is silly.

TF.tv have already laid out what the plans are for excess donations.

Sweden and Finland have some of the highest standards of living in the world. If they can't afford flights to the UK and a tent then the Broder player’s families must be living below the poverty line in their respective countries. I'd understand if there was a fund raiser for Mirelin as he legitimately lives in a third world country.

Yes, because broder players still lives with their parents.

I doubt it's a situation where they really can't afford it. It's more likely just them not having the money TO SPARE. They probably have a lot of things to spend their money on, and while they maybe could put something aside to go to i49 that might be really inconvenient.

They'd get some prize money, but probably not enough to cover costs. Last year the prize pool was £5000 (about $7700), split as:

1st £2500, 2nd £1000, 3rd £600, 4th £300, 5th – 8th £150 each

I think broder would finish at least 4th, probably 3rd (maybe higher but can't rely on that).

They need over £2000 as far as I know, so only first place would cover it.

Hopefully Broder can make it too! Do a fundraiser, I'm sure people would help. If the team can plan out to get there but just needs the support, you have a little over 4 months to make it happen.

I've donated 30$ yesterday. Come on people, if you have 5$ spare that you usually spend on zigarettes or alcohol, skip those for a week and donate. Even 5$ go a long way. :P

ZorroShwanWhere is the money going if the goal isn't reached?

Does it go to tf.tv? multiplay? an individual? also who makes that decision?

http://www.indiegogo.com/how-pricing-works-on-indiegogo

apparently if we dont reach the goal all the money donated goes right back to the donators
=/

That is not correct, this fundraiser is run on Flexible Funding (as I answered Shwan earlier, which I guess you missed?), which means if the goal is not reached, instead of Indiegogo only taking 4% of a cut, they will take 9%.

Hi, I'm really sorry I've been held up on stuff, I'm still getting around to things; if no one has added you, that means someone (from i49 HRG) isn't being responsible enough to do signings at the moment. I've collected everyone's email responses (and still am).

Another month has almost passed. Seeing that even just a minute or two of your time for a quick weapon signing is apparently too much to ask for in return for a free trip to Europe, I don't think I'll ever donate to a team fundraiser again.

No need to add me anymore, I'm tired of this shit.

For real?

That's unacceptable really, if I was funded to go to North America to play video games I would put at least 6 hours aside one weekend to do stuff I promised I would do. Come on guys, step it up and start following through, especially if the community wants to see another multinational LAN at i52.

Last thing I got was an email on the 22nd of July. I donated because I wanted to see an American team at i49, and the weapon signing would be a nice memento of that. I don't really care that much about getting anything signed at this point but it would be good if someone had just come out and acknowledged that shit wasn't happening.

EDIT: Mana and Tagg both added me, so thanks to both of them for that - i49 was a great experience overall and hopefully this is something to learn from for next time.

You're absolutely right, and I can't say sorry enough. I'm going to make a last stand because this is on the ex-HRG members. I've bothered them so much on the weapon signings and mentoring for some reason they won't follow through. I think at least 4/6 of them have, but that isn't enough.

I was still working through some i49 stuff, but a crop of real life stuff got in the way, but that isn't an excuse, just what's been slowing me down.

Super sorry if I missed anyone, not intentionally avoiding anyone I just kept forgetting to send out the invites when I got back from class. I'm not entirely sure who I am missing or if I missed people but if I did miss you, send me a message telling me you're a i49 dude so I can get to you right away. I still have a ton of people on my friends list that message me randomly asking for stuff and I don't know who they are

Then you need to list who those people are so we know not to support them with cash if they're not willing to give back.
