I have nothing against noob players, I'm also open to suggest them what to do and how to play, but they aren't just newbe, they installed tf2 some days ago.... They walk as soldier during the whole match even during the rollout, they take heavy and walk spinning since the respawn.(gunslinger92 once did 500dmg as scout while the medic did 1000

http://puu.sh/tdDSq/b666cb00b0.png)

They don't need to learn how to play comp, they need to learn how to play tf2, and this is not the right way to do it.

Isn't there an hour limit? I think it's like 50 or something. Played with a guy who put a nest on second and just sat there all game... was quite funny.

I don't think anyone is opposed to a higher minimum hour limit. A 300-500 hour limit would probably remove most of those instances of getting brand new players causing team imbalance. Consider that the higher the minimum hour limit the better the games will probably be for better players, but there has to be a point where a certain level of amateurism is accepted. You have 4600 hours. It's perfectly possibly that if I played with you you could be "ruining" my games as a 15000 hour player. Would it be fair for me to advocate for banning you and implementing a 14000 hour minimum? No, it wouldn't. The tricky part is finding that spot where every player has at least a solid understanding of TF2 in general plus a basic understanding of competitive TF2. Because there is no guarantee that even someone who has 10000 hours in the game has any competence in competitive TF2 is why I tend to advocate that people play FACEIT only if they have that basic competitive familiarity, a positive attitude/willingness to learn, and the ability to communicate. You can usually still have a good game if people meet those criteria regardless of their actual skill.

There's no realistic hour limit that will actually keep bad players away. There was some guy with like 500 or 700 hrs who played several games on faceit and never seemed to have any idea what to do.

Right now there is no hour limit though.

SpadesI understand new players and that a lot of them are just normal FACEIT players from different games

To take a specific piece from my last post in this thread alongside an example, here's one of the lowest ranked players on the NA rankings.

There isn't a magic hour limit that will solve everything, but at the very least a hour limit would help

Anakkk says that there is a 150 hour limit in the discord.
Also it would be useful if faceit suggested a comp tf2 tutorial video to everyone when they start so that they have a general idea as to what's going on.

After playing 30-40 pugs on FaceIT, I can say that I like the system. It is far superior to TF2Center/Stadium in just about every respect. At this point, you have a good chance of running into some players that are either toxic or terribly bad which will unbalance teams. However, overall I have seen few arguments over playing medic which is typically the hardest thing to get.

I believe most of the issues with unbalanced teams will go away once more people login and que for pugs on a regular basis. We need more players to join the site, it is really that simple.

For new players it must be obviously confusing coming into competitive TF2 considering all the mechanics involved. I think adding some sort of system where new players play with new players would benefit everyone especially those just starting out. I also believe adding some sort of tutorial or a basic guide on 6s would assist newer players in their understanding of the way competitive is played. In my mind I envision something similar to the basic TF2 tutorial on the main menu, but for competitive, so newer players can get a hands on tutorial in game where demonstrations take place. Sure, there are tons of guides on the internet, but I think adding one on faceit itself where people could join in and get a guide first hand would make new players more trustworthy in the facts presented, considering said facts are given on the platform being used to play on, and to most appreciably give them more comprehensive guidance.

To sum up my thoughts I definitely think there should be a sweet spot hour limit on top of a checklist players need to complete before playing with the "more" experienced players. For example, In my mind I'm thinking that people should have to complete a comprehensive in-game guide, play like 10 beginner matches at least with other beginners, and have x amount of hours. This is my take on what I believe would make faceit a more treasured system.

I have about 500 hours. At 300 hours I started getting bored in pubs and started to watch videos and improving specific aspects of my game (picking meds in pubs, mge, etc). Then I started to play NA newbie mixes. I've played a dozen or so pugs in faceit and a handful in mixchamp.

I support a minimum time in the 300-400 hour range. It's not about people be bad (I have a crappy record and I'm not great), it's about knowing how to play the game and not making it less fun for everyone else. It's not fun to get rolled because a player asks "what class is good?" at the beginning of the game, then goes engineer at last the whole time.

A 500 hour limit is a bit high, but not totally unreasonable. My concern there would be losing people who have 300 or 400 hours because they're bored in pubs and can't get a consistent challenge elsewhere.

I agree and I definitely think that more people playing faceit and queuing up would most likely solve the annoying unbalancing problems. (for example, situations such as where you get 5 players completely new to competitive and sometimes the game and you play a team full of at least debatably UGC Steel+ players or to some equivalence).
