Hey TFTV,

I decided a while ago that I wanted to start making some in-depth videos about 6s, and I've started to do so. I think it's something that's been lacking in the community for a while since tipz with ipz and other series like it stopped being made. This first one is about seagull's roamer playstyle, but I plan to do more general 6s stuff as well as these sort of player analysis ones.

I'm pretty new to video editing and all of this stuff so its always a work in progress (if anyone knows how to make my mic not sound like aids pls tell me). That being said, I'd appreciate feedback (format, editing, analysis) so I can make these better, you can comment here or add me on steam if you think you can be of use, and if anyone wants to work with me on these somehow that'd be cool. It's also kinda tricky to make this sort of stuff without many pov demos available so if there are top players that want to see more of this, just upload your demos please!

'Why bother?' 'dead game' - I wanted to do this because I think there are a lot of players that are still keen for tf2 and could benefit from these kinds of videos, and personally, I've been looking for more creative outlets and ways to practise articulating my thoughts, and this is one of the things I decided on. I'm working full time so idk how often I'll be able to make these, but I have a few weeks off atm so I should be able to get another 1 or 2 done soon.

Shoutouts to the people who listened to me bouncing ideas off them and those that helped me get resources I needed (or anyone who was of some use really): Seagull, Zesty, Verse, Drackk, Byte, Beater, Kermit, hpqoeu, Maks, shade, MeloIZCorE, my flatmate Bark, comp.tf

I also stream sometimes so come pester me to do demo reviews instead of playing the game badly: twitch.tv/nuze_

The intro to this is really good and brings people in to the context of the vid. I really like the format of the video and think the clip selection demonstrates correct decision making really well.

I think it would be good to have at least a second clip for each concept with a really high impact play made off the back of that decision to demonstrate what can be done as some of these he doesn't make huge plays despite him doing everything right.

I also think more clips where drawing is done to show what he can see and focus in a freeze frame is really useful as a visual aid because people watching videos tend not to have the same awareness as someone actually playing the game. (this vid does multiple explanations of the same idea with freeze frames really well).

If you want to still keep the vid at 10 mins you can probably cut out the long outro, a short clip coming back to a player interview at lan is good but keep it to 15-20ish seconds.

The vid explains the decision making process really well. Glad you're making these.

That was really enjoyable. I hope to see more content from you.

Consider upgrading your microphone with a standard, relatively cheap one, f.x. the Blue Yeti or Blue Snowball. Use the program Audacity to remove unwanted background noise, and you should generally try to speak more clearly as if you were talking to someone across the room from you. Try to keep the same power in your voice throughout, right now it varies a bit too much in my opinion.

The editing is already pretty good and I am sure you will get better quickly with practice. What you have already is valuable content, which is without a doubt the most important part. Keep it up :)

This was really well made but as others have said a better mic would be a good step in the right direction, the quality seemed fine at the start but at around 1:40 the quality went down noticeably and a buzzing sound got introduced.

I just watch the video again, ironically your analysis reminds of seagulls in his old demo reviews.

really informative content and well layed out!
i think you should keep the player introduction / lan interview stuff, because even though newer players might not understand some of it, older players will appreciate it for the nostalgia :)

armadilloany plans for more of these? the seagull one was really fantastic

yeah im (slowly) working on the next one featuring my favourite tf2 player of all time, who has also moved onto NRG overwatch.. SEB 'NUMLOCKED' BARTON

I'm not great at managing my time however, with a full time job, now practising for GA and irl commitments I'm not sure when I'll be able to get this one out, I had taken a couple of days off work a few weeks ago but I didn't make as much progress as I would've liked.. I guess I aim to get it out in like 2-3 weeks?

edit: i think because i dont have much experience making videos it probably takes longer for me than it would other people, but id expect it to be the case that the more of these i make the less time it takes me to make them
