aim-that or it took some time to get adjusted to the game

even though it has the same concept its still different

I thought it had to do with Hidden Path basically developing it for console and then Valve needing to fix it

That was (somewhat) constructive criticism though, based on the actual game and its many bugs and changes when compared to 1.6 and source. Although of course cs players can be very conservative and probably always have been.

GetawhaleI'm curious to know.. did games like CS or Melee have issues like this, just tons and tons of people saying it was a dead game, the same way we do? When CS:GO was first out, did they have a bunch of blind naysayers as well? Or is non-constructive bitching like this unique to us?

as I kinda alluded to, a lot of people were moaning about how useless the donation drive was going to be when that was happening

rly though, melee was considered a dead game basically the second brawl came out, basically. it was just assumed everyone is supposed to always go to the newest game, but brawl turning out to be so wildly different from melee resulted in a solid chunk of old players rejecting the game, which then resulted in a huge split and arguments which were wildly petty in hindsight. people would get especially obnoxious whenever one game or the other had the bigger tournament that year

obviously, these shouldn't be compared 1:1, but if you view melee/brawl like 6s/HL you can catch similarities here and there

JimmeeShankyB4nny said on stream after his big visit that Valve would be willing to do TF2 majors if matchmaking is well received
Out of curiosity, do you have a link to the VOD at all? Its cool if you don't, but I've been hoping Valve would get involved to the point of hosting a major or some sort of large tournament as I figured that would be one of the best ways to jump start the scene. Would be nice to hear a legit confirmation.

csgo was casual-friendly cause weapons were too accurate and the mm system had a lot of problems before they launched ranked mm.

GetawhaleAnd, because it bears repeating, self-defeating and pessimistic attitudes, especially from big influencers like Muselk, are what have the biggest chance of ACTUALLY killing the game. He has the power to affect the community market economy with one tweet (just as an example), so it's scary to think of how many kids watch his comments or videos and just take everything at face value.

Maybe that is part of his disbelief? That having given his blessing to match making he can't believe that his vast cohort of subscribers aren't following along - there must be something wrong with the game right? He's on TV, even if he's not yet big enough to employ lickspittle toadies himself I imagine he bumps into people who refer to him as an "influencer" and probably promotes himself in that way professionally.

I imagine it can be a bit of a blow to your ego to find yourself backing a loser. Also he's been doing this stuff for a while and is getting a bit older, maybe he wants to have some more serious commentary taken on board? The transition from a children's TV presenter to a serious commentator isn't exactly easy though.

lol, or maybe matchmaking is in a shitty state and has been sitting here in beta with no updates for months and he's annoyed by it, as is the case with a LOT of people? no need to overanalyse dude
