I had a crazy idea. Spies cannot use in-game voice chat to communicate with the other team, so anyone with a voice chat bubble over their head is not a spy. What if, through some sort of config, a whole team had their push-to-talk buttons "pushed" but their mics were muted? Spies would be instantly obvious, as the only ones without bubbles over their head.
Is this currently a banned strategy? I don't see rules against it in UGC. Is it cheap? Yes. Should it be banned? Yes. It's just an interesting idea I came up with.
I'd like to hear your thoughts.

Well if it's "Highlander" I would assume that would mean it's a "competitive" game. Most competitive games on TF2 use Mumble for voice chat anyway and not the in-game voice chat. Also sv_alltalk is disabled in competitive anyway so you can't talk to the other team...

My suggestion wasn't that you actually use in-game voice chat for comms. It's that everyone has a bubble over their head because they are technically transmitting. I know they use Mumble for actual comms, that's kind of the whole point.
