Where to play beginner PUGs

I was wondering if anybody know where to play pugs as a beginner to competitive TF2(note: pugs, NOT lobbies). PugChamp is quite advanced with many invite players and such playing there. Most IRC channels are also outdated with nobody logging into, or using them.

Newbie Mixes shouldn't be thought of as a pug group. It is a completely different environment than just about any pug in that the expectation of every single player is to try their hardest and play as if they were playing in a scrim.

If you're new and want to learn how to play TF2, by all means come by Newbie Mixes this Friday and game. We'll be happy to have you. Please don't stop by because you just want to play a quick pickup game.

newbie mix pugs still happen, i get notifications from them multiple times a week (not sure how often exactly since i don't really pug but they do happen)

I should also add that newbie pugs have higher level players in them, but also a fair share of beginners. It's a good place to learn because of his, I would say.

No captains, teams are picked by the system once there are enough players added. Good for players that are relatively unknown or people who just wanna game without having to wait for captains =)

afaik even though eu has them, there are no web-based pug system available to open and lower level players in na.
