It's that time of the year again, let's start the discussion. Who do you guys have going all the way and taking home the cup this year?

Flyers pulled out the big win today against the Pens to clinch their spot against Washington in the first round. I honestly think they can take them considering how the Caps have been playing recently and the Flyers have been playing well down the stretch other than the last few games. But the caps have so much more talent all around. It'll be a tough series regardless. I say Flyers in 6.

I mean the Pens have been playing really well lately. Get Malkin and Fleury back out there and I think you guys are definitely a contender, as much as I hate to say it.

hell yeah GO FLYERS! I bleed orange and black and always will.
My neighbors must hate me this time of year. Every big goal or awesome defensive play gets an eruption from me.

Playing the Capitals will be a very difficult series but I predict it will be the most physical series of all in the 1st round. It is really going to come down to how well the Flyers can do 2 things. First, they someone to step up and neutralize Ovechkin. (kinda how we did it to Malkin a few season ago in the playoffs). Secondly, the Flyers have not been a great team on the road. They need to win at least 1 of the first 2 games to have a solid chance in this series.

Whichever team advances will be a tired group of players for the second round though.

Hell yeah thank god someone else on here is a Flyers fan!

I agree on your points there. Couturier is REALLY good against Ovechkin, he has been shutting him down all season when they are on the ice together. Hopefully he sees a lot of ice time to neutralize him. Like you said, it'll be a ridiculously physical series, and a hell of a lot of fun to watch.

Edit: Will also be fun to see Wilson against guys like Gudas, White and Simmonds in the physical play department.

Go Lightning! Hopefully Drouin can replace Stamkos going to be a huge task but I believe in the ability of Bishop to carry us.

I just don't want anyone to get injured tomorrow against the Islanders in a meaningless game. Hopefully both teams just coast through and treat it like an All-Star game or something.

Mason will probably get some rest and we will possibly see the return of Neuvirth. I personally want to see the first game for our future goaltender, Anthony Stolarz. The kid is a massive 6'6 230 pound monster in net.

Ovechkin just nailed #50 this season. Absolutley amazing to hit that number of goals in the NHL these days. This dude does it 3 seasons in a row

Yeah I wouldn't mind seeing them sit Giroux as well, just to make sure. I agree, Mason will definitely get to sit for once, Neuvirth I'm sure will get the nod to stay fresh going into playoffs. It would be fun to see some Stolarz, but gotta keep Neuvy sharp here since he hasn't started in a while. The future is very bright in many areas for the Flyers though.

This was a "rebuilding season" and ended up making playoffs. Not too shabby.

Let us also not forget the Philadelphia Flyers Ice Girls. One of the best reasons to have tickets along the ice.

With no Canucks or Blue Jackets in the playfofs I'm in a pretty sad place.

I'm thinking I'll pull for the miracle Panthers or the Flyers in the east, they're really the only teams I dont dislike in the playoffs, and Lou with a ring feels right. For the west probably Dallas or St. Louis, because Benn is from my hometown and Tarasenko is a stud. It would kill me to cheer for the Ducks, but at the same time I'd like to see Kesler and Bieksa get rings.

TBH without Stamkos it's going to be very hard for the lightning to go far.

Gecks, trust me as a CBJ fan, making playoffs first year of your rebuild is bad, you get cursed for the next 2 seasons.

I don't if anyone here is a stat/math nerd, but this guy offers some pretty good statistical analysis for NHL related stuff.
https://twitter.com/IneffectiveMath

Here's his analysis from a couple days ago of post-season chances, considering all games through April 6th.

It is quite sad, a tremendously talented player. However he was on the downswing a little bit. I mean he is pretty old, plus I'm sure the fact that he just wants to go home hasn't helped either.

Dallas is my team in the West. Hopefully for them Seguin is feeling good after his achilles injury.
