What if the bugs were having fun and this has no future implementations except that b4nny needs to pad his season stats so he doesn't get kicked from froyo

There was a clip of a solly on badlands mid a while back getting kritzed with his Righteous Bison in a comp match. I think it was called SpaceCommander.avi or something? I've literally been looking for this clip for years now, anyone remember the link or name? It was really heavily edited I think, the pushing team was trapped in between choke and train when they were kritzed into if that helps.

Only marginally related I guess, but it's been bugging me.

flufnIt was super fun to watch. I hope more team that know they're going to get rolled do this.

I felt it was beyond retarded to watch in a match setting. Why should the next "underdog" team just throw in the towel and play like idiots against Froyo or Ascent because they are in for a really tough match to win? I have never thought I was going to lose anything competitive in my life until the game was over and the other team proved me wrong. Until that happens, play hard all the time to win and fuck around during scrims/pugs.

given the fact that they can't conceivably make playoffs I don't see a problem in deciding that fucking with b4nny is more important than trying to win an inconsequential match
also a lot of people seem to think that fucking around in scrims doesn't matter but I'd argue that it's equally important to take all of your scrims seriously and improve as a team
you play like you practice

I can understand and I am sure it was a team decision to play the way they did. I was more commenting on a personal level. Even if I was out of playoff contention or if the match meant nothing for the season, it was still a chance to improve and work on things against one of the best teams / players around. I would view it as a missed opportunity but perhaps I am putting too much into it, that is just how I would personally feel if I was involved.

these players are kind of the face of tf2 comp at the moment, so for them to be doing stuff like this, is kind of disappointing. Especially after seeing b4nny's MM stream where these players are writing "ni**er" on the screen after the rounds end, AND they know valve themselves are watching the stream. I guess im the only one who shares in b4nny's frustration wanting tf2 comp to mature and grow beyond this stuff. Good sportsmanship and playing respectful goes a long way. Finish the game properly, then dick around in pubs. just me i guess.

I'm all for fun. Fuck around all you want, teams. If you're being casted though, please don't. There are people working for free to try and help bring TF2 to a larger audience—something that will only benefit the players—and screwing around kind of undermines that as well as wastes time. Think of the children.

To be fair we shouldn't as a community be broadcasting useless matches.

I understand the premise of a 'more is better' mentality when it comes to TF2 content but this match was never going to be close, or competitive. You have a demoralized seemingly dead team with nothing to play for, playing against a top 2 team trying to work for a top spot in playoffs.

This match didn't deserve to be casted. As MM grows and viewer counts go up we're going to have to start taking pride in what we're putting out as a community. This match, even if FROYO hadn't offclassed wouldn't have been a good spectator experience, casting experience, or learning experience.

Nobody wants to watch a stomp, they want to watch high level interesting TF2. This match was an example of why TF2 has a hard time being taken seriously. You can compare this match to players being clowny at TI when Arteezy bought a 27 minute midas knowing he was going to lose, but that was when the game was over. Bugs were fucking around from minute 1 which is dumb.

This map was going to go 5-0 quicker than it did if people played their mains and nobody spectating was ever going to get anything positive out of it, so I'm not sure why someone decided it needed to be broadcasted.

it was legitimately the most fun I've had in a while, I broke down laughing. I understand that some people want TF2 to become a bigger e-sport and think things like this will prevent that, but this side of TF2 is largely what keeps me playing and enjoying it. Clockwork even said he had a great time playing it. At least to me, that match was much more interesting than a straight up 5-0, although no one brought out the ghost scout pan strategy.

#25, from a professional standpoint sure, but the match post on reddit has been the only match this season to get more than ~10 comments. In fact, there have been three major posts about the game. This cast penetrated the casual tf2 audience far more successfully than any cast this season, and a quick reddit search has this cast even beating out the i55 grand finals post discussions.

I suppose it is a matter of which audience does competitive tf2 wish to get into the game, but I'd argue that a rare cast that panders to the casual tf2 audience isn't a bad thing. As long as these matches don't occur more often than every 3 years I can only see these casts helping the scene grow.
