China was held a few great tournys before so it's not like they don't have people who have actual clue about what they are doing. Gaben needs to fire the production team and fire the people in charge who hired the production team.

So much respect for 2gd, and at the same time i have lost so much respect for valve. This guy who has done so much for the dota community behind the scenes is fired when he did virtually nothing wrong unless you count making non pc jokes. Im sure that gabe newell just took this ali guy's world and decided it would be best to release a four word statement that stains 2gd's reputation for any future work he does. I definitely agree with brownymaster that valve/gabenewell have NO idea how to communicate with the community, nor any idea what is going on in it. I mean he got fired by his best friend over a text.
Now sure maybe 2gd's response is biased and we should wait to see valve's side of the story, but I seriously doubt 2gd is lying.

too bad for gabe, but he should know that someone calling an ass (as CEO) on the internet could come slapping you back in the face real hard. but i assume he's no idiot and he probably had good reason to call james an ass?
personally, i don't think people should blow this up as they are doing. i suppose they do it because gabe is a CEO and people see this as unprofessional. and people love their drama.
i understand james' concern about his professional image, but i think we all should try not to judge anyone (james or gabe) just yet.

I'm kind of hoping things somehow get even worse and Valve decides against running another major in China. Obviously never going to happen but at least half of the Chinese lans are such a massive shit show and the scheduling blows on top of it.
