Quake Live "cg_killbeep 7" in TF2 using killsound.

Thought I may as well make a separate thread for it.

I just extracted the default "cg_killbeep" sound from Quake Live. You'll have to set tf_dingaling_lasthit_pitch_override to 100 for it to be perfect but here you go if you want it:

For the record you put that in "custom/userstuff/sound/ui" and set it to default in game.

Did you edit your huds damage numbers? I really like how small, yet visible they are and I was wondering if you could share them somehow

Be sure that you're using the default killsound if you're overriding killsound.wav

Be sure you're placing it in the proper directory

Be sure you're on a server not running sv_pure 2

That last bit shouldn't matter since hitsound isn't affected by sv_pure so why would they make killsound affected by it..?

Can anyone tell me why the killsound becomes a loud obnoxious gong when I'm in an actual server?

sv_pure 2 apparently messes with it, kinda ridiculous seeing as they don't mess with hitsounds regardless and they are both pretty much the same thing.

Really like this killsound. Let's hope they remove pitch from the killsound and fix the sv_pure issue. The loud gong would drive me nuts in the long run.

yeah, i love the idea of it, but the varying pitch and valve's lack of functioning ears when it comes to hitsounds kinda hold it back.

Apparently Valve fucked up but the video is still correct for when they finally fucking properly fix it so I'll leave it be.
