So people complain about the loose cannon when it's only good in certain situations, while you get two scouts who have great damage at medium range along with the ability to easily dodge projectiles at that range...

Antaresi don't understand why people are whining about the loose cannon when theres TWO of these running around

What I don't understand is how Valve can nerf the poor black guy that was never really 'op' in my eyes considering his 1 v 1 situation, but then not nerf the op white guy who kills off everyone.

Demo was absolutely too strong before. The only reason he was even remotely balanced is just because scouts kill everything.

just because a class doesn't have an advantage in the majority of 1v1 situations doesn't mean the class isn't good.

scout is only OP in one gamemode that almost no one plays and only when the players are close to the top of the skill ceiling

we're talking about banning the loose cannon in 6v6, shifting the discussion to other formats is counter-productive.

also none of your other points make any sense, we have thousands of people playing 6v6, and scout is used effectively in pretty much every competitive format as well as pubs. and open/steel level 6s players still see scouts top frag as often as any other class.

UGC - Mid Open scouts are garbage. In a 1v1 I never felt they were a significant threat in those divisions. Until you're a Playoff or IM scout, taking a direct 1v1 with a soldier is risky, and as a soldier you never really feel threatened unless you overextend or push with shit health.

Scout is used in every format, but he doesn't have the impact on the game he does in 6s in the other game modes because of player sizes, engineer, and the slower pace of the game. If you were to make him balanced for IM+ 6s, he'd be basically useless for every other format without a significant skill imbalance

from upcoming patch:

Reduced projectile speed (now a visible attribute)
Reduced cannon impact damage from 60 to 50. Damage also scales with distance.
Reduced knockback from cannon hit. Knockback strength is now similar to airblast.
