Girl at my school committed suicide

A girl who goes to my school tried to commit suicide on Monday and she passed away yesterday. I didn't really know her that well and only had her in my math class, but you never really think that something like this would happen until it really does... Anyone else have a similar story like this, I'm interested if anyone else has had something similar happen to them or someone they know

My uncle commited suicide by hanging himself in forest after being diagnosed with AIDS.
He was a really nice guy, I wish I had talked to him more.
This may be off topic, but recently, I've been getting suicide thoughts and even tried pulling one out 5 days ago. My life is just going downhill, I really don't know what to do

Go to the doctor Manky, go talk to a health professional. They are there to help and will guide you through it. The worst thing you can do is ignore it and hope it'll go away. Suicidal thoughts tend to knock you into a spiral of depression where you won't seek help so you feel ignored and it continues like this. Go see somebody as soon as you can.

My good childhood friend killed himself about a year ago to this date, I hadn't talked to him in a few months and it rocked me. Going to his funeral was a really good way to be surrounded by people all feeling the same way and console each other. Talking to people is difficult at first to broach subjects but once you do you'll find that people are almost instantly receptive and will be a great help. You're not being a burden to anybody.

Plavi telefon is a hotline exclusively for abused children and children issues.
I have been to psychologist few times, every time being diagnosed with depression, but im refusing to take pills to improve my mental health. I have been trying to escape reality with tf2, and it helps, but recently I just went straight downhill.

I've been in a shit spot for about a year now, main thing I can say is just talk and spend more time with family friends/relatives. Whenever you're in a real dark spot it helps to be around these people as you start thinking about what these guys will think if you were to act on any of these thoughts.

There were many moments when I never thought I would be getting out of this but slowly I have been improving, if you're really down about yourself write down little achievements that you have done throughout your day, this way you have something you can reflect on to see visible progress.

I've already started to see some as going from not eating for full days at a time, skipping meals etc. I'm now starting to consistently eat more most days. This kind of progress really helped me and will help you knowing that you can make progress and start feeling better about yourself.

The girl who sat across from me in health class committed suicide by hanging in my sophomore year. The whole situation didn't seem very real.

I started taking antidepressants this July and it was one of the best decisions I made. It didn't solve all my problems and stuff, but it really did help me. If you don't want to take them that's fine, but I would suggest you at least try them, if you don't like them you can always stop taking them, but from my experience they helped a lot.

If not then I think it's important that you talk to someone you trust about your feelings. It really helps to have someone who can just listen and give you a different perspective on things.

I went to see the movie Creed the other day, and there was a part in the movie that really stood out to me

I've been dealing with depression for years, especially after my grandfather died a year ago and have had suicidal thoughts before, it's even conflicted with my TF2 career before to where I didn't have the energy to play or had to be away from my team to focus on myself when I was suicidal as an in-patient in the hospital, against my will.

What I can say to anyone else feeling depressed is to seek medical and therapeutic attention. My medicine stabilizes my mood so it's less likely for me to feel extremely sad and I am now seeing a therapist. At first I didn't want to take medicine because it made me feel like someone who I wasn't and I didn't think seeing someone every few days and talking to them would help me, but now I realize both are very beneficial to me.

To Manky, help is out there in many forms you just have to look for it. Good luck.

My classmate's father committed suicide when I was in primary school four years after his wife (and mother of the classmate) passed away. It was hard on him, but I don't know much as he changed schools when his aunt took care of him.
Also I used to have a friend whose uncle hanged himself. I don't think suicide is as uncommon as one could think sadly.

my classmate had a grandpa who hanged himself after divorce, I don't know anything esle because she never spoke much about it
in that situation best thing to do is to find someone who you can share your thoughts with and who's gonna give you confidence that you don't need to do that and that it'll never solve ur problems
source: same thoughts with actions which resulted in really bad aftermaths

Sideshow you are the best speaker ever, you are hilarious when it's time to be, and when someone really needs something, you're there with great advice. You always say the nicest things that are just the perfect thing to say! =)

+1 on antidepressants, it might even take a while to find the right one that makes you feel like you're not just empty but it's so fucking worth it

Depression is a really odd topic. I feel more down than up these days, but everyone is talking about depression to the extend that it sounds like some really, really life-draining condition and I've never felt -that- down in comparison. Meanwhile my sister can't go a day without anti-depressants, but she generally seem quite happy and optimistic, at least compared to other people I've spoken to, who're on anti-depressants as well.

For all I know, I could be suffering myself while my generally humble nature would just convince me I don't have it as bad as diagnosed people do. I'm more or less used to people 'joking' about suicidal thoughts, and hear either of my parents do it often, so idk. It's just something I try to keep in the back of my head till the day it might be relevant. Does kinda fuck you up when there's nothing you can do for other people though.

I had a great friend on my skype one day went inactive. I had some of his irl friends added, they said he actually had extreme depression and ran away from home. They say nobody knows where he is to this day. I have not seen him online on skype for the past three years now. Idk if this is true, but it bothers me as I had many great memories with him.

maelstrommy university had 3 suicides in the first 2 weeks of this semester

What the fuck. Pretty common to happen at the beginning of semesters afaik, people get away from home and it gets a lot worse when they're alone. So sad.

In my freshman year of highschool the day of our first final exam we found out that the girl whose locker was next to mine had hung herself. It was probably the most surreal day of my life, I'd known her since 6th grade. She was amazing and the community really came together to support the family. If you wanna talk tury let me know

Another +1 on the antidepressants because I used to be vehemently against the idea of them too. But the reality is, they got me out of bed during my lowest times and allowed me to work on the issue with friends and family.

While I don't have experience with suicides, I lost my brother at age 19 and figure this thread is as good a place as any to offer myself up to anyone that needs to talk about any of this stuff. Just add me on Steam.

When I was a senior at my high school we started a FIRST robotics team. It was a lot of fun, we had a lot of fun people involved. There was this freshman who was really outgoing and fun- I liked to talk to him because he was funny and seemed like a really happy guy.

Two years later, he unexpectedly committed suicide after the robotics tournament that year. Just because someone may seem happy and outgoing doesn't mean that they aren't troubled on the inside. It was really sad, I miss that kid.
