Smart Drugs

Hey guys, over the past few weeks I have really been looking into a few smart drugs. The ones that really caught my eye were aniracitam and peracitam although there are many more. I ordered 100g of aniracitam on the internet a few days ago and I was wondering if anybody has had any experiences doing school related stuff while taking aniracitam. I heard that it helps get focused in and motivated to do work, which I need to do to continue in my major. I also heard that it makes handling anxiety a lot easier which especially around exams gets really fucking bad.

Does this shit really work? Or did I just waste $40. Thanks dudes

tried adderall and i don't like the fact that I cant really control myself when on it, these smart drugs are daily supplements that just have minor effects with none of the long term side effects of adderall. this stuff is also apparently not addictive

I've tried Pramiracetam and Aniracetam, and the caffeine and theanine stack that mealstrom mentioned. I've only tried them a couple times each, but I think Pramiracetam was the most effective of any of the three. I do like the theanine and caffeine combo though. Aniracetam didn't really seem to do anything for me.

From what I've read, I think Pramiracetam is the most potent of the racetam family, so I'm not sure how piracetam would be like, as I've never tried it.

Unless you have an actual disorder, you should not take drugs like these. It only makes you depend on the drugs, which you should not, instead of learning to focus. You're just putting off the actual problem and wasting money while you are at it. You will be much better off if you learn to do it yourself than to rely on some pill.

If you do actually have ADHD or another disorder, than I apologize, and you should take what you need.

Been messing around with nootropics for a while. Tried noopept, oxiracetam, L-Theanine + Caffiene Combo, and Vinpocetine.

It's really hard to gauge effects but I feel the most off the L-Theanine + Caffeine Combo in terms of just feeling clear and focused. However, noopept + vinpocetine makes me feel like I learn faster. I'll eventually test all of these and their effects in a more scientific way once I plateau in some way and can track myself. Just make sure if you take something like noopept that you're also taking a choline source like Alpha GPC so you don't get headaches.

For people disliking this topic: Just because it's not in a healthy diet doesn't mean it's not something your brain or body don't still want, they just don't exactly need it. Most nootropics are natural and you can read about how exactly they affect your brain and why they're almost always safe to use. There could be a multitude of things your brain could use right now to make you feel better but can't because you don't consume it.

PS: If you wanna feel like a god take 200mg caffiene, 100mg of L-Theanine, 800mg Oxiracetam, and 10mg Vinpocetine in the morning.

Abrisstried adderall and i don't like the fact that I cant really control myself when on it

A dose of Adderall helps people with ADHD focus because it mitigates neurotransmitter imbalances in the brain. However, in people with normal neurotransmitter levels, Adderall can skew dopamine levels.

Because Adderall contains amphetamine, it can often produce "stereotyping behavior" in high doses, which is a typical side effect of stimulants. Stereotyping behaviors are compulsive, focused, repetitive, and often meaningless behaviors, such as rocking back and forth, disassembling and reassembling things, or arranging and rearranging objects.

I wouldn't be surprised if your lack of control was the beginning of stereotyping behavior.

owlif it's not regulated it doesn't do anything

you wasted your money

Not necessarily true. The latest drugs can't really be banned if they drugs have not been discovered or tested by the government. Ever hear of "spice" (aka synthetic Marijuana). Some spice manufacturers constantly change the drugs composition, so even if you are caught with it, and its sent in to a lab, if they can't identify it you can't get charged (unless you were driving and failed like a field sobriety test or something). These smart drugs might not be super potent (don't know enough about them tbh) but I know there are multiple research drugs and are not currently regulated but can really do some crazy shit to you.

Honestly, whatever you do, if you decide to take it, I'd suggest taking it in moderation. Don't become a daily user of the drug. There likely isn't sufficient research to prove if there are any long term negative effects.

I take L-Theanine sometimes to help with occasional stress or anxiety. For me it has a slight calming effect, nothing major but just makes me feel a bit more relaxed. I'm shocked to hear you mention combining L-theanine and caffiene, as they are basically opposites and L-theanine is actually used sometimes to combat the effects of caffiene.

"nootropics" that are marketed as such are all useless, ESPECIALLY piracetam and all of its shitty indian knockoffs (aniracetam, randombullshittam, etc.). take this unsubstantiated, unregulated powder for around a year before you can become "smarter"? hahaha i don't think so. you know what actually makes you smarter? thinking for yourself & not being a lazy cunt.

almost everything discussed on nootropics forums is just well-marketed alternative medicine.

the studies compiled by examine.com have shown piracetam, rhodiola rosea, bacopa, st john's wort, and many other herbal remedies to have "slight" correlations to subjective bullshit like "focus" & negligible, or even potentially harmful, correlations to reaction time and your physical health (liver damage is a common trait).

you should also know that rhodiola rosea & bacopa got major attention in the USA because of Dr. Oz. unless you live in a hole, this should raise some red flags. he's a sham artist that works in conjunction with these shady indian fuckers to target housewives & their insecurities about their intelligence & health.

in the end, even major hubs of nootropics discussion like /r/nootropics recommend caffeine and l-theanine over everything else (but you don't even need the latter if you don't overdose on caffeine).

just get a healthy amount of sleep & manage your caffeine intake to ~100 mg a day; you'll be as focused as you'll ever be. honestly, you shouldn't even take caffeine daily, as building a tolerance causes irritability & aggression when you're going through withdrawal (even if the withdrawal is relatively short and harmless).

i've met too many idiots who take adderall recreationally for me to recommend it. if you legitimately have ADHD, it does wonders, but it reduces acuity for otherwise mentally healthy people. also, amphetamines are notorious for causing long-term liver damage & dependency.

if you aren't diagnosed with anything wrong, you need to come to realization that nothing beats honest-to-god work ethic. just man the fuck up and stop making excuses for yourself if you aren't getting shit done. if it's school that you're worrying about, then you need to realize that failure is a natural process of learning. don't take criticism maliciously, surround yourself with intellectually healthy & accepting people, and your confidence will improve a lot quicker than if you stay cooped up and take fake drugs while berating yourself.

The fact that people cheat on tests, take drugs, and whatever else just means the system values what you put on paper more on one test than if you actually understand the subject, and that's retarded.
