atmoget 120hz monitor so you can still see where you're going while strafing wildly
zigzterAny particular practice techniques to force yourself out of aiming with strafing?play on DM with +attack in console, try to keep your crosshair on enemy at all times

best way to learn scattergun is to use it like you normally would in game, doing that only helps with tracking

from my pov, the scouts with the very best movement don't just feel like they're randomly making themselves unhittable, it feels like they're individually dodging each projectile as I shoot it

idk if they're actually trying to or if their general movement is so good that it feels that way

but yeah

I remember forever ago people talking about carnage's movement being based on which direction people were aiming their gun.

if you've pretty much only played scout try putting a bit of time into playing soldier vs scout

it gives you an idea on how soldiers have to predict/react to scout movement and will help you get used to feeling where a soldier is going to shoot next based on how you are moving - this let you do things like "pre-dodge" with no reaction time if your prediction is accurate, or bait them into shooting at the wrong spot etc

I've heard something like if they aim their gun to the left, they'll have to twitch right to hit you, and you can then time a strafe to your right, and they'll like go to far. Some people I know claim they do it, but I don't know how useful it actually is :/

Movement against soldiers and demos is all about doing the unexpected. It comes with the perks that soldiers and demos are prediction classes. More times than not they're going to take the shot that makes more sense to them, the one that will kill you if you do what is expected. They only have so many shots, so when they predict where you're going to be, they want to shoot the road most taken to make sure they get the damage out. If you do something they don't expect, you can throw them off guard. A good way of understanding this completely is to play either soldier or demo against good scouts and see what they do to make you look dumb.

Is this still a thing or it has been fixed?
So many times I notice scouts jumping and their legs ''go crazy'', like they twist or something. I believe this happens because of the crouch spam while airborne.

VirulenceI want to know how Scouts get that weird "launched by explosion" animation. Is it caused by double jumps with a crouchjump script? I find it unusually difficult to predict. Hard to explain, but it looks like this: http://youtu.be/T8gxLtvWJtY?t=1m44s

It was fixed a long time ago. You can only crouch twice in midair to prevent crouch spamming

https://www.dropbox.com/s/jr00chyg20vuibd/Review.pdf?dl=0 the ILDPRUT thesis doesn't talk about crouch spamming but it does explain why crouching in midair can produce some wonky behavior

DavyCI see really top scouts have insane movement and I'm wondering what the tricks to unpredictability and good movement are. How should I practice movement? Finally, I here that some scouts have trick jumps and things that help, what are those?

Give up shitter
