LsRainbowsBonafideI've always had this, on windows 7 & 8 too, my friend has the same problem, both of us have a similar setup, 144hz main and 60hz secondary, went over to his house to see and it was exactly the same. Don't know what actually causes it tho.
I have the same thing, it seems playing video on the 60hz monitor makes the game also drop to 60hz

Switch your monitor to 60hz, trust me it's much worse

Is there anyone here with pirated windows 7?? Did you upgrade your windows 7 so microsoft can take the information and give you the key license or you just made a clean install?

Trust me when I say it's not worse, having a video open on my secondary monitor gives considerable frame skips and delays, while playing on 60hz is just choppier.

If you used daz loader (or any other activator) to activate w7, that worked by using an exploit in SLIC injection. They patched this exploit in w10, so if you try to upgrade - it will first check their servers to see if your product key is valid, which it won't be - so you will only be running the trial version.

You could try a kms loader which 'might' activate w10, but those are rubbish and will probably get detected with later windows updates.

Everyone with an Nvidia GPU should check their driver settings, apparently they got reset to defaults if you updated:
https://www.reddit.com/r/GlobalOffensive/comments/3g2duk/psa_nvidia_users_upgrading_to_windows_10/

I checked and mine certainly got reset.

I'm actually really digging the new Microsoft edge browser, also has anyone been having issues with rainmaker?

Also not able to open the NVidia control panel?

You need to completely uninstall your driver, reset your computer and re install your drivers with a custom install and checking clean install

The only issue I had apart from the settings resetting was that once I couldn't open the Nvidia control panel without ending the processes first, and it's working for me now so idk.

My computer has forceshut down twice after I upgraded anyone else having this problem?

And even if you make sure mouse accel is turned off in your Windows mouse options it isn't turned off in the actual game. Makes sure you have raw input on.

As for amd graphics cards my settings were fine in catalyst control center and didn't get reset

BonafideOk so I know I probably shouldn't trust Imgur on this matter but
http://imgur.com/gallery/8OJ4t

If this turns out to be true, then wtf microsoft, luring people into getting "free" upgrades

Can anyone confirm?

So I'm holding off upgrading to windows 10 atm for this reason alone. Is this fully confirmed?

I installed Windows 10 yesterday, and have been trying to find a fix for this input lag / mouse accel / whatever it is since. I disabled Game DVR on the Xbox app first, as that was the problem for most people. Going back in-game, the lag is still happening.. Specifically, my ping seems to be unstable on any server I join. My fps is well above 300, yet it still feels like its dropping below my refresh rate (60). I checked to make sure that the settings on my Nvidia control panel were not enabling v-sync and all of that, but even there everything seems to be fine.

These problems are occurring on TF2 and CSGO, so I know it's not just a problem with my TF2 settings. Has anyone else had the same problem/found a solution?

edit: switched back to windows 7 until there's a fix

I had the same problem. Turns out that when windows updated it changed a bunch of the settings in the Nvidia control panel. The "preferred refresh rate" was set to highest available, which apparently means "cap at monitor's refresh rate". I changed it back to "let the application setting decide" and that fixed it.

The only part of your pc that would invalidate windows is the motherboard

So I heard Windows 10 is causing lag spikes and I got a link that can stop those lag spikes. http://www.pcworld.com/article/2955491/windows/how-to-stop-windows-10-from-using-your-pcs-bandwidth-to-update-strangers-systems.html

This is in the thread a few times. Good to have another source anyway, I suppose.

tbh it's microsoft's fault for hiding this option and not disclosing that it even exists. i didn't even know it was a thing until i read it here.

Yeah, agreed. I was lagging the other night while playing and I was sure noone was using the net.

Haven't had the problem since I turned that option off.

Someone at work gave me a bootloader to license my old Win7 OS, ran the upgrade to Win10 all was well.

Win10 was running well for the first week, but all the app updates are now stuck in pending. I fear a system reset is the sledgehammer to crack that nut.

You have to upgrade from a previously licensed Windows 8 or Windows 7. You can't do a clean install unless you have a Win 10 key. During the upgrade process a Win 10 key is generated.

regarding what problem exactly?

I ask because there are lots of issues with windowed mode so I don't know which one you're explicitly talking about

If you absolutely have to play in windowed mode then stick to win7, there's no way to turn aero off in w8 or w10 so there will always be some extra input lag for windowed mode.
