Dunno if this has been posted or not yet (I didn't have a chance to skim the thread so sorry in advance), but in the advanced options menu you can now enable your mouse on the scoreboard, and when you're in spec if you click on someone's name you can see their current stats, add them as a friend, or quickly start a trade with them.

I'm not sure what this will mean for custom scoreboards, but since it seems to just use the scoreboard player list, I'm hoping most custom HUDs will be okay. Don't know about the stats changing color, though.

STOGEHow the fuck do I turn in my contracts

I had to restart the game then it came out letting me turn them in. One of them was accepted, the other got no response from the server and the contract disappear. I got a couple of weapons I can't sell because steam inventory is fucked.

LOL have you played the game? Rocket jumping is broken, sticky jumping is broken, basher jumping is broken, charging stickies is broken, demo has no falloff damage again, no freeze time at the start of a comp game. I know most of these things will be fixed, but as an update that I can play right now it's the absolute worst I've ever seen in 6 years.

It's an awesome update but as usual they did it VALVE STYLE and broke everything. As soon as they fix all the stuff they broke this will be an excellent change to the game.

Just because there are some bugs right now after the update doesn't mean it's the worst update ever, there will probably be a patch soon since there is no way valve is going to let this one slide, crying about it's the worst update ever is just retarded, this update is the beginning of a new tf2

I think you're missing the part where we're a community that heavily depends on a lot that is currently broken. Pubbies can just go suck themselves off on an unaffected class, but if we wanna do what we like to do, we're forced to deal with broken mechanics.

I honestly don't understand how you expected such a massive update to be smooth sail when we're talking tf2, especially when you've played the game for so many years

I agree that bugs aren't really surprising, but the scale of them for this update is pretty staggering. How many times have so many core mechanics been broken at once?

It happened on the two last major updates too, although It really annoys me it happens, I am just very glad Valve is so actively trying to make this game a thing again

SideshowIt's an awesome update but as usual they did it VALVE STYLE and broke everything. As soon as they fix all the stuff they broke this will be an excellent change to the game.

...
To be honest, I don't know if valve will 'fix' this at all. After all, Valve wants this game to be noob-friendly. So that means making the game simpler. Wouldn't it be simpler if you had never had to have learned c-tap, basher jumping, speedshots, or learn how far away to shoot a rocket for the desired effect?

This is why I think Valve should ask the competitive community for their opinions. Veterans with 2,000 Hrs+ know a lot more about TF2 than computer programmers that probably have around 100 Hours in the game.

Also, the Loch-n'-Load is still fucked. No matter how much you nerf it, its always going to be dumb until you remove the increased projectile speed that makes the weapon a crutch for people with cancerous projectile prediction. Nobody is going to stop using it in pubs... Ever...

Don't get me wrong, I love Valve as a company.
But I just hate change, especially when I've just become accustomed to it. I think all of us would hate it if they ever released a TF3... because we'd have to grasp completely foreign concepts and forget those we've been using for years.

A realistic comparison but an extreme one at that, is when Valve nerfed bhopping from every 'modern' valve game ever.

completely destroyed rocket jumping and sticky jumping by making so that the further you are from the explosion, the more distance you get with it; and with that comes effects on bball, rollouts to mid, etc., because now if you are close to a sticky you get almost no distance. Honestly, how is it possible for anyone to have thought this was a good idea? So many updates have just been bad with no content, but this just makes the game unplayable.

MightyThis is why I think Valve should ask the competitive community for their opinions. Veterans with 2,000 Hrs+ know a lot more about TF2 than computer programmers that probably have around 100 Hours in the game.

That isn't usually how game development works. There are people who are game designers and then there are people who are programmers. Sure the programmers have input, but they don't design a lot of the major features (and they certainly don't just add changes without talking to a designer). I don't know if this applies to Valve though because of their weird structure.
