Consolidation of the TF2 competitive scene.

It seems to me we could have allot more active and less convoluted competitive scene if all of our major sites pulled there resources together and made a central hub for competitive TF2?

If we could get ETF2L to change into ITF2L (International TF2 League) merging the NA, EU, OZ, AS, SA comp scenes (allot of the smaller scenes would benefit IMMENSELY from piggybacking off already existing infrastructure) and merge with the TF.TV site AND have TF2 Center built into one mega site wouldn't we have more presence as a scene overall than being spread out with different rule sets and different forums ect?

IDK maybe i am just being stupid...

How is jump starting the AZN and OZ scenes, giving a alternative to being cucked by ESEA, and giving new players a better impression of our game 0 reward?

how would it jumpstart azn/oz? still same players playing in it.

how would it be an alternative to esea? if etf2l in na was a legitimate option to esea, or just any 'community league' that isnt ugc, it'd exist

how would it give new players a better impression of the game?

0 reward besides a much bigger leagues and a bigger player base man I have no idea what the hell you mean by no reward. What ScrewB said do you really think low Iron teams are even improving maybe some but i've seen iron-silver scrims it's sloppy as hell if the community merged people would play the same maps the ESEA and UGC players wouldn't have a massive divide between them and hence would talk more.

You don't make any money. If this seems like such a good idea try to start it. I'm almost positive you will find that the days of work don't justify the end result of being head admin on an international TF2 league, which really just means even more mork for even more 0 pay.

Different scenes provide good different perspectives on the game. We take hints from other leagues, we don't operate in a vacuum.

We also don't need international help to jumpstart our league, we need local buy in. I don't see how a bunch of Americans and Europeans who already play TF2 knowing about Australian TF2 is any better for our scene. We need Australians and New Zealanders who don't already play competitive TF2 to play TF2.

Also noting here that ozfortress is the longest running competitive Team Fortress community and we have our own pedigree and history. Integrating admin teams especially would be no less than a nightmare.

Why am I responding to shitposting.

And you think the hours of work you put into playing this game monthly justify shit do you make money off of tf2 no this is a hobby right now but quadrupling the amount of people playing by pooling the ugc players and us into one league might actually make the game grow and give it a chance for it to maybe be a little more then a hobby. All I'm saying is you people should look to new things instead of being afraid to leave esea while it litterally fucks you in the ass.

The thing is once you go international pay matters, no sane person would dedicate 40 hours of unpaid work a week to maintaining an international league no matter how much they love the game.

And here i was thinking we could just have the already existing admins spread the workload. Wouldn't having everything in one place reduce redundancies and inherently reduce the workload overall?

AssassinGyruDo you think that the ugc admins run the league for the pay or even this site?

I don't think that ugc admins do anything

you're not gonna get people to give up the already existing resources they have in place (tftv, etf2l, ozfortress, asiafortress etc) and asking them all to contribute to an international league site is going to be far above the amount of effort people could/do put into tf2 and it would garner 0 extra awareness because new players of different continents can just get pointed to that region's tf2 resources anyways, on account of them already existing and all

no one wants to make another (needlessly redundant) site especially if they're not going to get anything out of it they don't already

Last time i checked having more publicity is good for growth?

fightno one wants to make another (needlessly redundant) site especially if they're not going to get anything out of it they don't already

I am saying merge already existing resources not make new ones.

I am probably ignorant on the subject (please explain it to me if i am wrong) but i don't see how making TF2 center a tab on TF.TV would be that much work. I am a bit ignorant on web development. Is there any resources you can link me that would explain why it wouldn't just be copy paste hackjob?

I don't see a point to having an international league like that, since the different regions don't play together for the most part. The closest thing is playcomp.tf, which has a good but brief summary of all the major leagues and formats. So just direct the new players there.

I think there would be less of an issue if most of the websites had big fucking buttons at the top directing new players to playcomp.tf and tf2center, as well as if it's a league, links to how to post that you're LFT (I'm looking at you etf2l). That way we don't have to have a centralised league and people get directed to the right place (e.g. less prem recruitment posts from American pub players).

I don't think combining the leagues into a central locations is the issue. Exposure and reducing barriers to entry in order to draw in local talent would be the most effective way to jump start and maintain each region's competitive scene. Is that not what this very site is for?

Rather than having a single unified league, it would be nice if there was more... I don't know, representation? From every league and every region in one site. That one site would serve to redirect newer players to their appropriate league while also providing some information as to the nature of their league, divisions, and game format. ... I feel like something to this effect was a thing at one point. Hmmm. Either way, I think that would require significantly less work for better reward.

As far as the subject of tf2center integration... or at least supporting it goes. Considering the future of matchmaking coming, investing too much work into that front may simply be a waste of time. Though I don't see anything wrong with noting its existence and providing a link to it. On that hypothetical competitive TF2 hub.
