what about making mge/dm an actual part of the game? like being able to search for them in the serverbrowser or something. csgo has official dm servers, right?

Will there be a spectator system implemented similar to Dota or CS:GO? i.e. the ability to just click to watch your friends game with an automated camera and access to casters.
Will we have in-game statistics comparable to those other games as well?

Are there going to be new maps? Right now only a handful of those currently in tf2 are suitable for competetive play.

Here's some things that a few folk within other communities/within this community brought to my attention that I'll drop off here, may or may not have been said in past pages already:

- what do about assholes (berating teammates deconstructively, bad manners, etc)
- what do about casual play (ties in sort of with assholes, people who don't want to "try hard" and play TF2 without the pressure of winning/losing)
- what do about hackers (standard concerns)
- what do about strange teams (5 heavies, 1 medic stuff)
- what do about pay-2-win (duck journal, Mann Up ticket)
- what do about mic support (in-game chat is okay now though so)
- what do about ranking systems (sandbagging/smurf accounts)
- what do about HUD options (things disappearing, might be hardware thing too)
- what do about nerfs (per month/season MOBA style)

Can you upload the VOD as soon as possible? I'm not gonna stay up until 2:30 AM, but I do want to see this as soon as I wake up!

Most of these are just issues with matchmaking, cs has a lot of these issues. Matchmaking is never gonna be perfect because there will always be assholes.

I've seen a lot of people post about "What about people who run 5 pyros to mid?" I see this as the tf2 equivalent of running P90 and Autosnipers all game in cs. It will happen in the low ranks and that's why it's the low ranks. There's a reason we have the meta we do. It's the best lineup. A team of regular 6v6 format will stomp all other someone running pyro/heavy/engie/whatever to mid. So I assume, the higher your rank the more like actual competitive tf2 it will become i.e. people using mics not flaming not trolling etc. In the same way that the higher ranks of cs are more like proper competitive cs i.e. teamplay, good comms, ak/m4 and not p90.

TF2 is f2p though, so this is a big issue that needs to be addressed to prevent cheating/smurfs etc. Maybe require x amount of games in unranked?

EDIT: Just remembered that way back when Valve first released updates adding non-vanilla weapons (goldrush update?) they said something along the lines of "Weapon unlocks will not affect class attributes e.g movement speed, health, damage vulnerability" if Valve retweaked the unlocks with this in mind (so that different weapons are different in their own right) we'd probably see a lot of much better unlocks like kritz and gunboats. Some of the unlocks just feel cheap and lacking creativity.

teebssuikahow is mumble going to be incorporated or is there going to be a voice chat overhaul?Seconding this.

Voice chat latency was reduced in the patch below. I didn't know about it until reading other threads.

Voice chat is still decently delayed, but it's pretty playable now. I find it's about the same latency as TS (a bit worse than Mumble in terms of latency)

Valve should really add a console command for customisable voice latency (input & output). Idk if the issue is clientside or serverside, but you could just as easily make it a cvar anyway.

ZestyValve should really add a console command for customisable voice latency (input & output). Idk if the issue is clientside or serverside, but you could just as easily make it a cvar anyway.

It's not as simple as setting a value, latency is fundamentally based on Internet connections and the methods they're using to transmit voice from end-to-end.

Basically he made the statement that class balance is more about the weaknesses rather than the strengths of a given class. Which was forgotten about apparently in May 2009 with Sniper vs Spy (Razorback and Dead Ringer)
