Are STV bugs being fixed?

What kinds of spectator tools are in the works?

What about replays/demos? Any changes?

Regarding matchmaking, are there whitelists and rulesets? Is it paid like Mann Up, or free to all?

Are there any better tools for making videos?

Lastly... What was it like to be there? Did they pull you into a dark room, did they discuss it over lunch? I'd love to know what the general attitude was towards hosting you guys, because their attitude and mindset says a lot about their ideology.

EvrewsDo you think Valve would be willing to hire members of the community such as Lange for this?

Fucking this. If they would be willing to do this, man it would mean a lot. Working for Valve to better a game that's lasted so long with one of the best communities out there...

Is the matchmaking and hence competitive support likely to result in some fixes or honestly, better yet, a rework of sorts for TF2's SourceTV and demo system?

Also holy shit thank you so much to everybody involved in what is happening, seriously. God I fucking love this game.

I think that mana was implying the demoui would get an overhaul when he brought up the changes for video makers

Did they say what ranking system they would be using or what game it would be most similar to? Will it be an MMR number that we can see like in DoTA or just a rank like in CSGO?

joddwill the community ever see the published letter sent to valve?

I think that they said the letter will be released in the extv video

I'm not sure though, they said there is a letter which should be up at the time of the video's release. I'm not sure if they misspoke, if they intend to publish the letter later, or if they are talking about a different letter.

Edit: sorry for double post, didn't notice I was the last post in this thread

Hey guys, really happy to see that you all got to visit valve! :) Extremely jealous and really excited for what to come with the game :)

As for my question: what is valves plan for preventing a rampant amount of cheaters from playing in their competitive modes? Counter Strike, while it has hackers, is a paid game that someone has to at least spend more money each time they are VAC'd or something of that nature.
My suggestions are as follows:
1. Implement an "Overwatch" type system that they have in CS, where the person is judged by a peer and the peer votes on if they think the person was cheating.
2. With the addition of "Limited" steam accounts, could they make having a full on steam account a requirement?

Thanks for answering my question and I'm very excited for Fully Charged this Friday :)

are there any plans to differentiate ranks depending on which class you queue as? this game is much different from say csgo in that you can do well as one class and just be complete garbage at another due to the different weapon mechanics.

i really hope we can queue for specific classes regardless; I don't want medic to be like support in league and have no one want to play it ever

What classes or their respectable pieces of weaponry are going to be rebalanced first? Is it even in mind for some major class and unlocks tweaks to go with a freshly shipped matchmaking system?

(psst, will poor Default Pyro see the light of its viability day, and will Spy turn into more of a reliable class?)

Yo, we need to try our hardest to get as many live viewers on this episode as possible. Even if the changes aren't what we had in mind, the more people who valve sees are interested in the unveiling of the changes, the more likely they are to respond to community feedback and the more likely they are going to try to actively work on this. Message your friends, watch it on your second monitor, etc, etc.

picking classes will be like a center were you pick the class before the game, or we will have to fight to play demo/scout/pocket(or spy/sniper if its 9v9)?
Also once its implemented will it only be us eu servers, or there will be servers in oceania, and south america?

How is hacking going to be dealt with? MM will introduce a huge incentive for hackers like we see in CS:GO. Do they plan on adding an overwatch-style system like what's in CS:GO or are there alternatives being discussed?

A good question about matchmaking and weapon balance would be what route they have in mind for covering it. I feel like there's no good amount to choose to ban that would be fair other than 1 weapon ban per team per game, and although the process would be slow, each week can take the top banned items and valve can then look into rebalancing these weapons. It'd start with horrible things like Short Circuit and Beggar's, and slowly work its way down the list of things that are just anti-meta.

How will the ranking system work? Can you play as a team? Will the ranks be global or divided by region?

Couple of basic questions
What's the format?(HL,6v6)
Will there be organized tournaments for each region, or will it be for a larger area?
What changes will be made to the weapons to balance for competitive play, if any?
Will there be prizes/awards for winning?
Will all maps be available to play in comp or specific ones, or will new ones be created for competitive play?
What will the games be played to?
Will we need items to participate in a game(like MvM) or will the lobby be more similar to CS:GO's?
Will there be requirements to go into a lobby, like hours played?
Will players be able to set up their lobby with their own settings(for example playing to 3 or playing to 5)? Or do we have to join official servers?
Will ranks be displayed somewhere outside of the lobby?
Will team implementation be supported? For example you can have team leaderboards?
How will respawning work? After round ends or after a few seconds?
How will trolls/newbies be dealt with?
Will this be skill-matched based?

How will the protect against smurfs and ban evaders?

How will this be initially formatted?

Can we expect a huge wave of item nerfs, prepare for an official ban list, or suck it up when we get red tape'd?

How much would could a woodchuck chuck if a woodchuck could chuck wood?

Other than player highlighting, what sort of spectator options can we expect?

What's the stance on custom HUDs, scripts, textures, etc?

Why now? Why not earlier? Later?

What will the top rank be named if there is one? I suggest "Upper Saxton" "Pure Saxton" etc. You're welcome.

Can we expect higher level competitive tournaments with at least half of the scale of CS:GO?

This is the push that competitive TF2 needs in order to establish itself as an E-sport video game. Thank you Valve and b4nny for discussing the future of competitive TF2; although, there are some questions I like to answer.

[*] Will there be team stickers similar to CS:GO? With this implemented, players would invest in learning the competitive scene from prominent teams and players.

[*] How would Valve address the cheaters in matchmaking? Will it get the Overwatch treatment? Will their be an automated bot or will they be handled by the TF2 team?

[*] How would Valve address weapon balance? As of now, the community have differential opinions towards certain unlocks.

[*] How would players' skill scale in Match Making? ELO ranking? Class ranking?

And thanks again for the implementation of competitive match making.
