Several near accidents with dumbasses who can't fucking drive (including one with a truck that almost certainly would have been fatal without good brakes).

Had a suicidal homeless guy pull a large piece of glass on me once, more of a hepatitis risk than actual death.

camping in middle of nowhere Texas at this weekend festival, a brown recluse spider was spotted on the outside of one of our tents.

standing at the edge of the grand canyon. probably not very "dangerous" but it feels very unsettling.

being drunk at some club in barcelona with no idea how to get back to the hostel.

idk none of these are super dangerous, just made me feel uneasy. there was one time in the 1st grade when i was walking with scissors, pointed side up, and i tripped on the leg of a desk. the scissors passed my face nearly an inch from my eye. similar incident around the same age where i was carrying a screwdriver (also pointed side up because im an idiot) and tripped walking up my front porch. the tip of the screwdriver went right up my nose and gave me a good cut, luckily didnt go too far up but that was probably the scariest injury ive sustained.

When I was 6 and playing by a road in the country a car narrowly missed me (less than 2 feet) and was going at least 50mph.

When I was 17(almost 18) I had an abscessed tooth so bad that I got a bloodstream infection (do to my parents being poor and my dentist delaying my appointment TWICE), it got so bad I had to spend 2 days in the hospital and was bed ridden for 2 weeks do to a bad reaction to my antibiotics. I went from weight about 155lbs to 125lbs in 3 weeks cause I could barely drink water, and all the food I tried to eat I would instantly vomit.

I split the my nose open getting ready for a date once. I slipped in the shower. That alone isn't very exciting but like, I didn't realize I had cut my face open, went back to showering, and woke up on the floor covered in blood. Then I felt my face and my fingers went clean into my nose. Then I decided I really wanted to go on this date.... And got back in the shower a third time claiming this wasn't gonna beat me. I fell down from blood loss immediately.

This ultimately culminated in me leaving my apartment dressed but soaked in water and blood, scaring everyone I passed, making it to the office and passing out of bloodloss in their chair after asking for a bandaid. Someone drove me to the hospital, I had two inches of skin missing vertically and a quarter inch horizontally exposing my cartilage in my face. They numbed me and had a plastic surgeon fix me up. To this day I no longer have an Asian rounded nose, my nose has the trademarked "broken" crooked bump.

I went on my date five hours late and had a great dinner.

I just thought about it too but when I was 7, I had a heatstroke and seizure at a beach. Hawaii is hot man.

in door shooting range when I was 12. some moron thought shooting the metal clip that holds the targets was a great idea and it ricochet around and got me in the head. it bounced enough to not penetrate so I did not die. basically i got dinked without headarmor irl

pretty much every interaction involving guns involves someone real fucking dumb operating them

Threads like these make me glad my life is pretty boring.

Best I have is that I almost stepped on a rattlesnake (generic California variety) when I was like 12. I heard its rattle and noped out of there. I probably would have been fine but I was young enough it could have put me in the hospital for a couple weeks.

On my 18th birthday 2 years ago, I ended up deciding to hop on my bike to get to a friend's home. On the way there as I was crossing the street, some dude decided to speed into a tight right turn and fucking rammed into me, I ended up skidding across the street along with my bike, no fractured bones somehow, but I was bleeding pretty badly on my back and leg. Bike was destroyed. rip bike

To preface, I'm quite a light person. When I was 9 or 10, I was standing next to a super busy street in Chicago during a super windy day. Cars were going maybe 50 mph. I weighed 50ish pounds. Suddenly this wind starts picking up, and I shit you not, my feet started to lift off of the ground. Straight levitation, and the worst part was that I was starting to "float" towards the traffic. Totally in panic, I kind of just stood stiff while flying forwards slowly.

Then this large black woman yanked me back and put me on a bench. Thank god.

THEBILLDOZER2 years ago i went backpacking through the mountains of new mexico with some guys from my boy scout troop. it was about a 100 mile route that we completed in about 12 days. on i believe the third day, we got to camp, and it started raining. no big deal. we set up camp and headed off to do some shit. but then it started raining a lot harder, and we had to spend five hours at a cabin because the ditch we crossed the first time was now a river, 10 feet deep and 20 feet across. eventually, we were able to get back across, and made it to our camp. I talked with our trek leader about the situation, and what could happen if the rain continues. As we're talking we hear a roaring sound, and a wall of water pushes through the aforementioned creek, surrounding our campsite with rushing water from 3 sides, with the fourth side blocked off by a mountain. The water was getting close to the tents, and we decided that if worst came to worst, we would move to the hillside in front of the mountain.
Cut to next morning. The water is no longer posing a threat to us, in the sense of our gear getting flooded. But we then realize that we have no way to get out of our campsite. So we decide, that the best course of action, was to walk up and along the muddy mountain, in the rain, until the ditch turned away and we could get back to solid ground. I was leading the way, but after having some difficulties, another kid who had a bit better footing than me decided to take point. We're walking along, across slippery rocks, leaves, and mud. Below us is a rushing river, that was completely dry 24 hours previous. I slip. falling onto my stomach, i manage to grab a sapling to keep myself from sliding any further. one of the other members of the trek sits down on a rock, reaching out to me. If I lose my grip, I would likely smash my balls on a tree on the way down, and then drown, weighed down by my 60 pound backpack. I manage to grab his hand though, and after almost pulling him down with me, (he was about half my size) I was able to scramble back up onto the trail. We take the rest of the hike much slower, and are finally able to work our way down to the cabin from the day before.

during cricket nets. walking back to my mark to bowl again and not paying attention behind me as a cricket ball gets smashed and goes whizzing right past the side of my head.

this other time when I was really young some total stranger tried to get me in his car, there were people near by so he couldn't force anything. at the time I didn't realise what happened but pretty creepy thinking back to it.

When I was 4 or 5 I fell into a lake from a back yard that was a solid 20 feet above it trying to extend my body over the ledge so I could throw the bread I had to the ducks in the lake without it getting caught in this p big spiderweb right below me. As I fell I grabbed a root sticking out from the cliff and pendulum'd myself into the wall, hitting my head pretty hard. Hung on to that root for a while till I started to feel really dizzy and fell the rest of the way into the lake. My pops found me after what seemed like a million years of me screaming for help and booked it to me crazy fast, I passed out like 2 minutes after he got me out of the lake. Luckily no brain damage, just a 5 year old freaking out. I destroyed the fuck out of that spiderweb on the way down though, so feeding the ducks was ez after that.

Driving x1000

Broke up with a girlfriend years ago, and went climbing something semi serious without a rope. Nearly rag dolled down 200 feet after a hold broke. No longer climb without a rope. I did feel better about life after that. though.... :P
