As a doctor I can honestly say,

I'm not a doctor and health-related shit is something you don't go on the internet for.

runescape_boy_420also my case is not something i can really google because im an anomally, being incredibly sensitive to drugs affecting seratonin, with a small amount of antidepressants and antipsychotics causing seratonin syndrome for me last year. Also im not trying to look cool, im legitimately trying to battle depression and anxiety with cbt and self medication. +i know some of you go to med school so foh with ur "hurr go to a medical forum durr" its off topic "for a reason"

I'm not a doctor but if you are on anti-depressants and anti-psychotics you need to stay away from all drugs, including marijuana. People make the argument "hurr durr weed solves all mental sicknesses" but the hard truth is if you rely on the high to get through the day, your mental state of mind will be seriously fucked in the future beyond repair. I used to be friends with a guy who was high for probably half of his waking hours, and he is now a nervous wreck incapable of motivating himself to do anything.

runescape_boy_420nah dude i just want someone in med school or some shit i cant go to the doctors cause then my parents will know since im still with my pediatrician

Patient doctor confidentiality exists even if you are a minor (unless in serious cases where the minor is at risk of seriously harming himself). If you aren't a minor your doctor cannot tell your parents anything without your consent, even if you are still on your parent's health plan.

TL;DR don't be a fucking idiot and if you have concerns go to your doctor. Drugs aren't something to mess around with if you are on anti-depressants.

runescape_boy_420im not on any prescription drugs right now and the only substance i take regularly is melatonin. The time i was on antidepressants and antipsychotics was because of an impulse decision of my psychologist at the time to treat irritability

What are you on melatonin for? The fact that you take it regularly (and are still young enough to be with a pediatrician) is kind of worrying. There are some very nasty side effects that result from long term use of melatonin, and mixing it with other drugs is dangerous to your mental health.

if you're worried about your parents knowing you went to the doctor and asking you why (because legally the doc can't tell your parents what is said/done so that shouldn't be a concern) then idk, you might be able to say you had a really bad headache or something (not sure honestly)

If he is still a minor the doctor can actually legally tell his parents certain things. For example he can tell his parents that he has cancer or that the kid confided suicidal thoughts to the doctor. However, the doctor probably wouldn't tell his parents if a patient simply had a question.

Patient doctor confidentiality is kind of blurry for minors, especially in the U.S.

You know if you have problems with melatonin regulation you should probably stay away from all monitors and TVs as much as you possibly can especially at night.

Would you care to elaborate on this, or at the very least post sources? I haven't had much luck with finding any information on long-term side-effects of melatonin, aside from developmental concerns resulting from irregular hormonal variance. There does seem to be some concern with how melatonin supplements are produced, but most of the long-term negative side-effects of melatonin seem to be hypothetical and are never backed by a sufficient amount of evidence.

Regular and long-term use of melatonin in your teens definitely seems questionable.

Ok, this is a collective turd of bad advice.

Don't ask reddit for medical advise (wow, just dont). Don't ask a med student for medical advice. Don't ask a forum of non-physicians either.

Reading nejm articles doesn't replace a decade of medical training. Go see your PCP (or a different PCP if you want privacy).
