So if you didn't know there's this new mini-PC (hard drive and ram is not included) from Gigabyte called Brix
http://ca.gigabyte.com/products/product-page.aspx?pid=5096#ov
That's the newest model
When it first came out, I just saw it as a sort of small PC office or media thing that's getting popular, but the newest model, the one I linked, has a good gpu, cpu, etc, and it's tiny. Smaller than the ITX cases that are in the market right now.
So I was just wondering what other people in tftv would think of this.
Even though it's expensive as fuck, I feel like it would be so much easier to bring this along to LANs or something.
Just my thoughts, I wanna hear yours

The VESA bracket so you can mount it on the back of your monitor is a pretty cool idea. These look cool to me as a LAN/portable desktop thing. Wondering about the shortcomings/corner cuts though.

SteveCCan't plug in a 120HZ monitor into this.

Why not? mDP supports 120Hz. Unless the miniDP is connected to the integrated intel graphics instead of the nvidia GPU, it should work.

The specs say it supports 3840x2160 @ 30Hz which is the same bandwidth as 1920x1080 @ 120Hz.

It apparently suffers from gpu overheating which causes it to throttle down, thus dropping fps.
Linustechtips did a review on it here https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hGI8iYjk0rc&list=UUXuqSBlHAE6Xw-yeJA0Tunw

You would be better of building a computer in a Antec ISK110 Vesa, by joining an AMD APU with a nice motherboard, something along the lines of:

CPU: AMD A10-6700 3.7GHz Quad-Core Processor ($148.99 @ Amazon)
Motherboard: ASRock FM2A78M-ITX+ Mini ITX FM2+ Motherboard ($90.38 @ Newegg)
Memory: Corsair XMS3 8GB (2 x 4GB) DDR3-1600 Memory ($64.99 @ NCIX US)
Storage: Samsung 840 EVO 120GB 2.5" Solid State Drive ($80.99 @ NCIX US)
Case: Antec ISK 110 VESA Mini ITX Desktop Case w/90W Power Supply ($74.20 @ Amazon)
Total: $459.55
Prices include shipping, taxes, and discounts when available

Of course it is bigger, but still Vesa mountable :D (also not as good in performance, but cheaper I think)
