I recently just switched ISPs and got a new wireless adapter as well. I had AT&T (DSL) before, and now I have Comcast/Xfinity (Cable). I went from a shitty G to a decent N wireless adapter (TP-Link TL-WN822N).

I'm still losing connection and I don't know how to fix this issue.
Any suggestions?
I know a lot of you probably think "well, that's your problem. You're on wireless." I know plenty of people that run wireless and don't lose connection this much.

Side note about what happened/happens when I lose connection:
When I had DSL, I would lose connection an average of once every ~15 minutes. When I lost connection, mumble had to reconnect to the server and TF2 got that "WARNING: Losing Connection" text in the top right corner and usually stopped at ~2.7 seconds and I was able to continue playing. With this new ISP, I'm not losing connection quite as often, but when I do, I still get that "WARNING: Losing Connection..." text it's just that I lose connection all together and I can't reconnect to the server for at least 2 minutes, and it still says I'm in the mumble channel when really, I can't talk/hear anybody. The weird thing is, when I lost connection with my DSL internet, I couldn't connect to the internet at all - I couldn't load a page in my browser, yet with Xfinity, I can connect to any other program (like Google Chrome/Mozilla/etc.)

i used to run wireless, my internet was super shit and anytime anyone in the house used the internet for anything it basically shut down my connection and stayed out.

the whole disconnect from mumble but you're still in, i think that mumble has a timeout period where you're still in but aren't actually connected, and if your internet comes and goes in the time it takes for it to timeout then it doesn't ever actually disconnect you from the server. I think your internet is having periods of extremely short connect and disconnect periods where it's turning off and on again, due to how the inconsistency of wireless

make sure that you're the only one on the wireless

edit: my internet actually turned off and came back on as i wrote this lol

if it is your internet connection:
http://www.dslreports.com/forums/all

register a name, find your ISP and make a post with this relevant information. highly trained tech employees of your ISP work on these forums and might be able to assist you further.

i was having internet troubles (CONSTANT, intermittent internet drops) and made a post here. a tech from my ISP asked for my IP, and within 24 hours i had 3 techs at my house working from the outside/in replacing and tweaking things, and also got 3+ months free of service for my troubles. this was of course after 3 months of 10+ different techs coming to my house and literally doing nothing.

worth a shot - good luck!

seeing as Im not the only one on wireless, I'm assuming you've downloaded the appropriate drivers for your new adapter?

just moments ago I resintalled drivers from the company website for my adapter cause before then, I would constantly lose connection for a brief moment. drove me nuts every time it did that. dropped connection from ts3 plenty of times and got hit with auto-disconnects.

I looked this up while I tried finding ways to fix my problem. hope it helps.

thanx for you time. and if my suggestion didn't work, I pray for your success in comp TF2 and your connection.
