Are there seriously people who don't understand that

white, land-owning males were the only people that could afford education in the 18th century

Or are you dumb enough to think that they were genuinely interested in true democracy? This is like middle school history seriously.

To be fair I found 90% of the lan boring to watch. The only interesting moments were when at least one team went off QF.

It probably has to do with the fact that it came off as racist. It's not cute or clever to use "only white men could afford education" as an explanation, it's actually just racist and completely uncalled for.

Hallowpeople who don't play comp or play it at a really low level seem to want it unbanned. yet seemingly a rather big majority of the people who play it at a higher level (considering the low level people posting high open is "higher level" here) want it banned.

low level people also have a tendency of standing around letting 70 percent uber advantage slip out of their hands. low level people want to unban the gunslinger so that engi is viable. never listen to low level people.

might seem rude but tbh i'm really tired of this discussion; you could argue that the decision to ban it was rushed but it's a retarded weapon (in its current state).

you've posted retarded shit since i46 and no one has any idea who you are still

Not to mention completely irrelevant to the debate at hand.

To put the topic back on track:

TheManWithNoNamethe medic COULD HAVE DIED EASILY. it is not like the medic was trying to make a 1 vs 4 hero play to cap last and win the game with his QF uber popped on himself and the last point half capped...

Could, but in order to do so all the fire of a whole team needs to be focused on him alone. Tactically this may not be the correct choice but in the midst of a push individual players may not have an opportunity to shoot at targets not being buffed during the push.

Quickfix literally makes advantages in this game seem like nothing and make positioning an almost non-existent concept for the medic.

This LAN was the worst spectator LAN for our game in a long time and I would actually like our game to grow, for those reasons alone I think the weapon merits a ban.

PenguinAll the gullywash matches were awful and boring to watch, HRG vs Mixup was just the worst of the bunch. Even if gullywash is stalematey, it's usually pretty entertaining to watch, because it's a map where teams can swap between defending their last to pushing the opponents multiple times in a single round, often just off the momentum of a single exchange. And it wasn't just gullywash, none of the other matches were very great either.

Lan was just not the best environment to be testing out such a radically altered weapon.
RinseEverything about this medigun is asking for stalemates.

It's uber is great at defending but pretty shit at attacking hardened positions.
You have to use it to win the midfight which usually dedicates your medic meaning you will be pushing into a turtled team at last something the QF uber sucks at.
No need to risk yourself building uber so there are fewer opportunities for roamers to get in on the medic meaning fewer advantages to push off of.
Roamer has no buff to bomb to help break the stalemate + the the QF jump ability makes it almost impossible to divebomb a aware team even with team coordination.
The QF uber is counterable with Heavys and Snipers so obviously means more Heavys and Snipers which = slower games.

Thats not even getting into how this thing makes a mockery of learning proper heal mechanics.

This thing needs banned with the force of 1000 suns.

both of these guys are right and made reasoned arguments yet they're minus fragged

Rinse didn't mention the dynamics of running other mediguns for last pushes or metaing the mediguns, which happened a lot on (though plenty of failures doing this). I'd almost agree with Penguin but QF was being tested a lot before LAN (hence why all the invite teams just so happened to be using them during LAN). I'd say the late half of the season shouldn't have been the testing grounds for QF. Calling them right just because you agree with them doesn't make them actually correct in any way.

Oh i forgot to mention pushes with other mediguns.
In order to flex you need your medic to die. This takes time and if you don't make there medic die as well (a whore with the QF) they will simply push out while you build.

The way to neutralize this is to not go to mid and grind kritz in yard. The problem is the game now becomes a dice roll as you try to guess what medigun the other team is running to mid (you can rename your medigun). If you do not contest mid and they have uber you will probably get destroyed. Not to mention this is all VERY boring.

If people are really upset over how things slow down the game, why isn't heavy pyro engineer sniper and spy banned yet. Like I don't see how people can all blame just the quick fix for breaking / slowing down the game because of one bad map.

Either ban all the off classes so you can't do that shit, or fix the way the rules are set in place. Instead of 10 minutes of doing whatever you want after you cap and waiting to push their last, why not make it 5 minutes? Or do something to change the pace of the game. IMO This game is really stale and boring with how it is right now.

And this game needs a better a/d map and another koth map. my 2 centsssss

PhaserThe QF wasn't the sole cause of that match being so stalemated. When you have 2 teams of incredibly close skill/experience in a situation where it is better to play safe, the QF was just the cherry on top of an already slow pace.

Teams close in skill don't make games slow by default.

Because banning classes would make 6s look a lot worse from the outside than banning weapons.

Try because pyro/heavy/engy/spy/sniper are really only viable in niche situations and when used outside of them there are pretty well known and strong counters to them. I don't understand this whole "we do things to make our game appeal to outsiders" bullshit. The reason we don't ban these classes is because they add variation to the meta in a handful of circumstances, and are pretty bad elsewhere.

You don't need your med to die, you just need someone to die and then open spawn (or even walk back to base, shade did this plenty of times). And even if they know you've switched, pushing out of gully with 6 people up is still ridiculously hard and they'll still wait it out (they knew the switch happened but still didn't push out from last). The question is if the last point is awful for krits and getting to the other medic combo takes too long (hurts uber), can you do anything quickly? Probably not, since gullywash last is awful for krits because the two best areas to krits from (right/water and mid right) take too long to rotate to and make them guess. You can do much more with krits on lasts like badlands where you can quickly go from top left, top right, or bottom in 5 seconds so they can't preemptively sticky it off.

I do agree that QF wins mid better than any other medigun, but if you can win mid without any types of uber going off you can still have an advantage for 2nd/last.

From what I understood, only Mixup really embraced the qf and the other teams came around to it when they proved to be successful (and because it's so obviously the best choice for mids)? But I don't actually know what the invite teams were or weren't practicing in preparation for lan. Either way, you can't compare a month and a half of testing a new weapon with the years players have had to refine the game as played with ubercharge. And no one was going to take any major risks to counter the qf at the lan itself because too much was on the line.

All I know is the way it's currently being played is really awful to spectate. I think the qf could still be a really great, dynamic addition to the game, and if you ban it prematurely and call it done you'll never know how its use would have evolved. But if this was the pinnacle of TF2 played with the qf? I don't know if I'd watch anymore lans like this.

Technically it didn't break the rules, which automatically banned new weapons but not established weapons that were changed midseason.
