The loss was deserved. Not upset about the loss.

Nothing wrong with the late payment arrangement, that way more teams can play and banny gets more money at the end of the season.

The same team had an Adv player join their roster and he gets restricted several days after our match. I've heard stories from former teammates having the same thing happen to them. High-level player joins a roster, DESTROYS them then in the days after they get restricted.

seems unfair but i'm not immediately seeing a better way to do it. probably aren't enough staff to vet every roster change for potential restrictions before any matches are played

could do some sort of points penalty after the fact but that could get messy

if you spend your time whining about a single player from advanced playing 1 division below, you won't get out of main

just become an advanced-level player and then no one can sandbag against you

Just don't allow them to join the roster until they can put the class restrictions. Would that be too hard?

Yes. I would have my frustration remains until a change is made.

How hard would it be to look at roster transactions and go " oh maybe that guy shouldnt sniper in IM since he has played 6 seasons of Invite + 20 seasons of UGC Plat"

Ah yes, lets not restrict Advanced players at all and allow teams to sandbag. That worked out great in ESEA.

You can even ask my teammates. I was mentioning how they havent paid before our match. How do you not see their penalties and go "Oh wow they havent paid up yet"

u never played esea so u wouldnt know what the real issues were. class restricting adv players in main is why that divs full of babies and has kept degenerating since s1 outside of this szn. i liked ugc's sandbagging rules, each team is limited to 2 players 1 div higher, but for rgl change it to 1 so each team gets their own sandbagger. either way, class restrictions are dumb outside of amateur since thats where the actual kiddy pools at, and last thing we should want is a guy like jaguarfiend in there.

yeah, they should probably do that.

it's obviously not fair for one main team to have to play these guys with their best player unrestricted, but the main teams for the rest of the season don't.

my friends and i wanted to play rgl for fun since none of us had touched competitive tf2 in 4+ years but they stuck us in a paid division and nobody on the team wanted to pay money just to get rolled. wish I knew we could have played a few games for free lol. thanks for the thread

as I've said many many times, sandbagging in ESEA was a highly overrated problem, and generally a self-correcting one (when teams/players sandbag they're usually pretty demotivated or would've been one of the weaker teams in the above division), and whining about it has always been pretty pathetic

I did a whole stream about how much I disagreed with RGL's draconian approach to sandbagging a few seasons back if you're interested but tl;dr you are wrong and mad

i watched it all and i pretty much agreed with everything, recommend to anyone who hasnt seen it. i especially liked the "if ur a good admin people wont even notice ur there" statement. class restrictions have proven to me to be very harmful at least from my personal experience with main. if i remember right, there were 0 players class restricted in s1 main and thats undoubtedly the best competition that divs seen that wouldve been ruined if those players had been restricted, which they definitely wouldve been since there were iM playoffs and old invite players mainclassing. in that season u had to be a complete noob if u didnt know how to double sac, nowadays in main ppl dont even know how to property single sac or do things i learned in my first season of open. if the gap keeps getting bigger between main and adv, all whats gonna happen is no one is going to want to play with moveups under any circumstance. thats kind of already the case actually.

When you're listening to Tool, just remember that they're not like other bands. Their music is incredibly artistic, almost to the point where you have to be paying complete attention to them to even remotely understand them. I remember listening to a song on Lateralus (though I can't remember what it was), where I thought a song was absolute bollocks during the listen. Then, I closed my eyes for a second, and all of a sudden the song had an entirely new meaning. It was insane the way Tool could just become something so different when you take a look into the music.

Another thing you should note about Tool is that it's easy to get a headache listening to them. Not because they're a bad band, but because of how many ideas their music is riddled with and how complex they are. Soon enough your head will fill to the brim and the rest will just sound like noise to you. Just turn it off and give it a listen the next day.

If you don't like the music, you'll definitely at least enjoy reading through the lyrics, and picking apart the song itself and all of the artistic values that go into making it the complexity that it is.
