How do you deal with stutter stepping?

Been getting into scout recently, I'm okay against soldiers, as I can keep my crosshair on them for the most part.

But apparently when a scout starts stutter stepping my brain just goes AYO SHAWTY IM OUT, how are you supposed to deal with it?

Is it a sensitivity issue? For a long time I've been playing with 2cm/360, but I recently switched to 7cm/360. Am I supposed to make it even slower?

thanks babes xoxo

people doing small movements is gonna be hard for u to hit if u cant do small crosshair movements

it could be a movement thing it could be like a lack of mouse control which could be sensitivity related there are quake players who hit decent lg with this kind of sens but i think in ur case ur sens is uncontrollable for you in the sense that you make silly unecessary movement shakey 360s by accident bullshit

i think u have a high sens like this in response to your high ping or something maybe it helps overcompensate rockets dor that, thats what i always assumed, but aim wise this isnt gonna help u with any kind of movement and the sharp fast stutter steps are just gonna reveal this the most

tldr u dont need a low sens u just need a sens u are genuinely comfortable with and i dont think u arw with what u have been using

im a trash scout but i think you cant really track in scout 1v1s so what i tend to do is just flick my mouse in the direction the scout might go and then it hits ( sometimes)
trying to track scout 1v1s makes my brain hurt also

Tracking scouts highly depend on you having a fast reaction time, otherwise just flick.

Who are these players saying you can't track in scout 1v1s lmao maybe if they stutter step with the null mouvement script it's hard to perfectly track but u on some shit if u think tracking is just impossible for scout 1v1s

I'm playing scout for first time this season and have the same trouble with stutter stepping but i use 6.8in so I have fine mouse control, think I just gotta get better strafe aim and practice it more. I'm sure there's probably other better ways to deal with it like matching their movement or just keeping your crosshair centered if they go back and forth a lot but idk what I'm talking about so imma wait for an actual good scout to weigh in.

Right, thanks. I'll probably lower my sensitivity then.

Haven't played on tr_newbots. Do the scouts also stutter step in there?

I think prsn and Divine are talking about keeping your crosshair on the scout even between shots. It's hard to do and you don't gain anything from it. I think most people just track enough that the flicks are a short distance when they shoot but don't bother keeping crosshair on the target the whole time

aiming with your movement instead of your mouse helps a lot against scout that just spam a and d all the time

7 cm/360 is extremely fast for any class, especially scout. I think the average scout sens is about 25cm/360 at the highest level. I'm not saying you should copy what invite players use for the sake of it, or that your sens is impossible, but you probably don't have jayhyunpae levels of hand-eye coordination, and you might be handicapping yourself.
