Saint_panzerxiiiSaint_panzerxiiiHmm, I put all the stuff in the tf/custom/ folder and my configs work but my HUD files do not. You can just copy all the stuff from the old tf/ directory into the new custom/ directory right?
make a my_custom_stuff folder inside the custom folder and put your sounds/resources/scripts there

Yeah I tried that too, put it all first in tf/custom then in tf/custom/panzer

tf/custom/my_custom_stuff and putting them in there?

having this same problem, did this exact thing. my cfg works but not my hud :(

Something to note,
My HUD won't load if if my folder structure looks like such:
/custom/mystuff/HUD/resource
Rather it has to look like this
/custom/mystuff/resource
I'm not sure why, but it seems like it only searches 2 folder deeps into the custom folder.

Also, I've gone through and deleted my old tf folder, however I'm still about 5GB shorter of space on my SSD... Frustrating, can anyone suggest where I should be looking for extra leftover things?

So sv_pure might be a little too strict on Steampipe right now; apparently custom hitsounds are broken on sv_pure 1 or 2, and cross-version. Steampipe/Steampipe and old/old should be fine from what I'm reading (HLDS Mailing List). This will automatically be fixed on the 30th when everything is on the same version.

This might also affect HUDs, not sure though.

I've tried opting into the steampipe thing three times and whenever I give it the okay to convert TF2 steam just crashes after like 20 seconds. Any ideas for fixing this?

BenroadsI've tried opting into the steampipe thing three times and whenever I give it the okay to convert TF2 steam just crashes after like 20 seconds. Any ideas for fixing this?

Is it actually crashing or is it just freezing, there is a difference. As someone mentioned before, once you opt in and start the process, all steam windows will be frozen for several minutes, after that it will begin the conversion process.

Moral of the story is you just have to let it do its thing and not bother it.

Don't click on it or anything. Just opt in, confirm the download and let it run.

Edit: Custom hitsound not working. Broken or did I put it in the wrong place?

Another note, the extra space being take up on my SSD was because TF2 didn't remove the old game file.

Check your steamapps folder for any files that start with "team fortress 2", such as the textures file. You can safely delete those now.

Nothing happens. I click "steampipe -" and underneath it, it says "successfully opted into the Steampipe beta". It says "successfully opted out of all content betas" if I click to opt out of anything. I know I didn't successfully opt into and out of the Steampipe beta in less than a second.

Regardless of what I choose there's no "okay" button, only "close".

In the local map selection GUI it now lists your custom maps before the default ones. That's pretty nifty.

Try verifying cache. That fixed it for me.

Also FYI: According to someone on the Steam Forums, if you run a server running Source Mod Anti Cheat, you'll need to update it, or else it'll ban people running SteamPipe for cheating.
