No spoilers here

I just wanted to bring up the last two episodes of the show, because I am very disappointed after watching them. I feel like it was ~45 minutes of absolutely nothing worth watching. It seems like they are running out of plot and just filling up the time with nothingness. But I know that isn't the case, so what gives?

What do you guys think about the last 2 episodes?

they cant just run around shooting zombies for 60 minutes each week because that would be boring as hell too. This season has been really action packed, but they needed these slower paced episodes to build up to what is coming.

trust me, ive read every single issue of the walking dead, and while everyone knows its quite different from the show (which is a good thing, both are great, and you dont get all the spoilers), i can assure you they are not "running out of plot" lol.

Yea, the majority of the recent ones have been meh. Very slow, especially the latest. I'd say the only decent one from the last month was when they re-dsicovered Morgan.

I kind of hope the show dies for like half a season, and then it can become a cult classic.

It's been pretty awful since the show started back.

Just holding off for summer for Breaking Bad...

yes, they were very uneventful, but i thought it was fairly obvious that there will be action packed, tension filled episodes on the horizon.

miloif you've read the comics then you know these last 3 episodes are going to be amazing

thats IF they stick to the storyline from the books. well see how it all plays out, but the showdown is going to be nuts.

mild spoilers for seasons 1 and 2

I was talking about this earlier today. I would have ended the series after the resolution of the conflict with Shane (the farm part) or even ended it at the end of the first season.

This entire season has felt unnecessary and I think the whole "zombie apocalypse" thing is quickly becoming stale. Not just in the show, but everywhere. Seriously, most popular FPS games of the past few years have included some baseless "zombie mode" and it's even more common in action films. It's lazy writing and once you've seen one gory zombie battle you've seen them all.

I tolerated the first two seasons because the conflicts were interesting. The first season introduced the apocalypse and asked "Can we live through this?" and "Can it be fixed?" The conclusion answered, respectively, yes and no. The apocalypse is here to stay and humanity will live with it.

Season two gave us a very interesting conflict between Rick and Shane, with each man representing a different approach to the new life. This concluded with Rick, the compassionate and principled half in this dichotomy, winning out, but compromising his ideals in doing so.

And what do we have in Season 3? A bullshit good-vs-evil conflict and a handful of entirely new characters thrown into the mix without a thought for development. With the loss of his wife and his rival, Rick's story is completely played out, and the remaining characters were pretty static to begin with. At this point, Walking Dead is a flat story about flat characters, and all it has left is its bloody zombie battles. And I've seen quite enough of those.

Couldn't you just have stopped watching it after Shane died?

Seems like it would've spared you some apparent grief.

Sure, but that's no reason not to complain about the new stuff.

I don't mind when a show gets slow but there are times when the Walking Dead is moving at sub-Dragon Ball Z speed.

i dont understand how people are complaining about this show, especially this season. This season has been really action packed. As i said before, you cant have a show just about killing zombies every 2 seconds, because that WOULD lead to "flat characters" (as someone called them above). Personally ive loved every episode. Even the second season which was very low on action i felt was incredible. That entire season was spent on character development so that you actually feel some sort of connection with everyone (well, everyone except t-dog... 2 lines all season) so that they arent all just cannon fodder.

Season 2 was FILLED with tension, especially between rick, shane, and lori. Im going to be as vague as possible here to avoid spoilers, but the conversation Lori has with rick in the tent about Shane in season 2... that was an amazing scene.

The Walking Dead isnt a show about zombies, its about people trying to survive. The zombie apocalypse is just the backdrop for the story, and the zombies are really just there in a supporting role.

You dont need constant action for something to be incredible. Just look at any Tarantino movie... he always has long dialogue scenes but they are amazing.

It's obviously just suspense and tension-building the past few episodes. I think someone major is due to die very soon though.

Thrasher brings a great point. For people wanting JUST blood and guts this may not be the right choice. Oh well, can't wait till next Sunday.

i feel a little disenchanted about the governor in the show vs the governor in the books. same with andrea. andrea is one of my favorite characters in the comics, but easily my least favorite character in the show.

for a second, i thought the governor was going to ask for rick's baby instead of asking for michonne. for some reason, i felt like the producers were going to follow the whole "i had a daughter and i'm a decent human being but i'm really fucked up at the same time" persona.

all in all, pretty happy with this season.

@thrasher: how do you feel about the current trend in the comics?

Spoilers Below !!!

Woah woah woah...let's take a step back here. First off, you're being way too presumptuous by saying "it can't be all blood and gore and blah blah". That isn't at all what I'm complaining about. I'm not that shallow and easily entertained. In fact, I would be equally disappointed if that was what the show had turned into by now...mindless zombie killing, violence, etc....

I understandthat there is tension building up, I get that, I believe in it. But for nearly an hour, a 5 minute conversation happened, while darrel and martinez had a pissing contest to see who could kill the zombies in the coolest way (that was dreadfully obnoxious imo.) Aside from that, Merle was throwing a fit back at the prison, and put his knife-hand to Glenn's throat because he couldn't be with his baby brother. It all just seemed like the show was trying toohard to build up tension. Hell the only exciting thing that went on the whole episode was the intense make-up sex between Glenn and Maggie - that was pretty hot.

ok season, wasn't as great as i hoped it'd be. Certainly didn't meet certain expectations that I had after reading the comics. Show isn't bad by any means but It could be better.

GAME OF THRONES ANYONE? 8)
